This restaurant ought to rank far higher among the Halifax listings. Both quantity and quality of food were great! The restaurant sits between Fisherman's Cove and MacCormick's Beach, and the large outdoor patio has a great view of the beach and the Eastern Passage. We got a very friendly welcome, and excellent service on the patio throughout our meal.
Our server brought water and wine very quickly. Greek salad and house salad were both large, fresh, and not overdressed. We both ordered scallops as a main course. My partner's scallops were dusted in flour and seasonings and then sauteed with bacon. Mine came baked with bacon, cheese, and garlic cream sauce. Each of us got 9 good-sized Digby scallops, where other restaurants we have visited in the city give you 5 or 6 for a similar (or higher) price. The scallops in both dishes were cooked to perfection, melt-in-your-mouth good. I had a delicious cup of decaf to finish off.
To sum up: the food was as good as any restaurant in Halifax that I have ever visited, we got 50% more food for the same price, and the service was great. We're marking Boondocks down for a return visit as soon as we get back to Halifax again!
