This was our fifth time staying here but our first since Wyndham took over. They've definately updated some rooms and it shows. Nice decor, beautiful bathroom/shower and the refrigerators are very convenient. The Tiki Bar is still a great place to eat or sit and have a drink. They have live bands on the weekends that we really enjoyed. The front desk staff was very pleasant and always accomodating. We had breakfast at the restaurant and it was reasonably priced and delicious! What we enjoy most about the hotel is its convenient location relative to the beach, area restaurants and shops.
If I had any criticisms it would be these: First, we repeatedly had trouble with our room key. We had new cards made but the problem persisted. We had multiple rooms and it wasn't an isolated issue. I don't know if it was the door locks themselves or the software that controls them but it was definately an issue. Second, it was very hot when we were there (no I'm not blaming the hotel for this) but we were unable to sit by the pool because there were no umbrellas available to shade us from the sun. I remember in the past some of the lounge chairs had canopies attached. Now there are only umbrellas at the four corner tables. We adjusted by renting chairs and umbrella for the day at the beach (thanks David!). These were $20/day and...This was our fifth time staying here but our first since Wyndham took over. This could be a problem for the hotel as we were unable to order food/drinks as we sat out because it was just more convenient to pack our coolers for the beach. I suggest investing in more umbrellas and you'll get a return on your investment from the increased sales at the bar.
In closing let me say that we will definately be back. It's still a great hotel in a great location in a great town. Absolutely no complaints with the staff or service. We really really enjoyed ourselves!!!More
