Stopped here on my way north and couldn't be more surprised with value and condition of hotel! Everything was fabulous! Staff very friendly, lobby smelled nice when we walked in. Desk clerk even offered extra towels because she knew we had more adults in the room than amount of towels required by hotel to be in placed before guest arrived.

My friend had reserved a handicapped room for our two night stay. When checking in were told no handicapped rooms available even though reserved. Rooms are assigned on a first come/first serve basis and they consider a handicapped room a request and not a reservation. I am in a wheelchair and need a handicapped bathroom, especially at least a stool in the shower. They refused to provide one even though Wal-Mart was next door and they could have easily gotten one. Therefore, I was unable to shower during my stay.

Many dogs in hotel with some right above us running around rom all night. Dog owners did not clean up after their dogs and left poop on sidewalks.

Will never stay at a Motel 6 again.

Room tip: Cannot choose. First come/first serve.

Dear James Sadler:
Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Motel 6 - Canton, GA Your feedback is very important to us. At Motel 6, we strive to provide a superior guest experience, and I am sorry yours did not meet expectations. The room reservation for handicap accessible should have been just that, a reservation and not just a request. This is unacceptable and I am sharing your feedback with my staff so we may avoid this issue in the future.
We appreciate your sharing your concerns and hope you will give us an opportunity to better serve you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Rachel J. Hendricks
General Manager

We stayed 5 nights here and lived to tell the story. Drive as fast as you can right past this place! We were on the 4th floor. The stench and heat in the hallway were suffocating. The carpet in our room hadn't been vacuumef. One morning the bed wasn't even made nor fresh towels in the bathroom. However the cigarette smoking, tattoo clad dregs of society seem to really like the place!

My teenage daughter and I stayed at this location for a total of 10 nights and everyone of them was a challenge. The smoking and smoking odor was a constant issue. We bought a can of air freshener and sprayed constantly, but it was never enough. The worse part for me was how we were treated because we stayed there for 10 days. We were put into the category of an extend-stay so we didn't get daily housekeeping service. We were there on vacation not living there as other seemed to be. So no trash service, sheets changed or fresh towels, which was not what we excepted at all. I was unaware this was the case, so after a couple of day of feeling that we had been skipped I approached the housekeeper on our floor and asked for our room to be cleaned. She had to clear this with the front desk who was none to happy with my request. Then when we returned that night there was a paper on the bed stating the extended stay rules and that our once a week cleaning was on Monday. We also had a huge issue with the security of the hotel. The door on end of the first floor was almost most always unlocked with a u-shaped clamp over the push bar of the door keeping it from locking. Then when it did lock the outside card reader didn't ever work. So between this, people hang around outside smoking all the time (as well as smoking in rooms that were non-smoking), someone vacuuming at midnight, the trash in the halls and on the floor it was a very unpleasant stay.

Room tip: There are no good rooms

This was the most horrible hotel I have ever stayed in. I am shocked that it is part of a national hotel chain. I reserved two non smoking rooms on the Motel 6 website requesting that they be side by side. I was visiting with my elderly mother and she needed me beside her to feel safe. When we arrived we were given room 105, a non smoking room on the first floor and room 420, a smoking room on the fourth floor which was as far away from my mother's room as was possible. I told the desk clerk what I had reserved and she looked in the computer to confirm it. Once she confirmed it, she told me that these were the only two rooms available and that I could take them or stay elsewhere. I took the rooms. Room 105, where my mother stayed was okay but room 420 had an overwhelming odor of cigarette smoke. I bought a can of deodorizer and sprayed every fabric surface in the room. It worked for a short while but not for long. The desk clerk who checked me in told me to check with the desk clerk on duty the morning after I checked in and that they would move me to a non smoking room near my mother. I checked with Antoinette, the desk clerk on duty and she promised to move me once other guests had checked out. I returned to the motel that evening to discover that Antoinette had done nothing that she had promised to do. The desk clerk on duty who was the same clerk who checked me in told me that there were rooms available that I could have been moved to but that they had not been cleaned and that there was no one to clean them. I was again forced to stay in a smoking room that smelled horrible and that was three floors above my mother's room. When I arrived back to my room the beds had been made but some of the pillows didn't have pillow cases on them. They were just completely bare pillows. The next morning I again inquired about being moved to a non smoking room near my mother. I was moved to room 218 which smelled 100 times better that room 420 but was still not even on the same floor as my mother's room. The remote control in room 218 did not work and when I went to bed that night I discovered that there was no blanket or comforter on the bed there was only a sheet. I called the front desk asking for a blanket or comforter and was told that they didn't have any because people keep taking them. I was offered an extra sheet. Throughout my four night stay, I never received a room that was even on the same floor as my mother's room. There is no working wifi and starting on the second floor the hotel is dirty and rundown. There are signs on the hallway garbage cans advising guests to take their garbage to the dumpster. I stayed here for a few nights a year ago and everything was fine. I read all of the horrible reviews before staying here this time but I just could not believe that it could have gone downhill that far so fast. I now know that it really has. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.
