I have visited this hotel a second time. Staff was friendly, very pleasant to talk to and to deal with. But the hotel, in my opinion, is way overpriced. At over $500. a night for the best waterfront room is very expensive for what there is to do there. The rooms are small. The parking area is small, just like the rooms. Peter Otts Restaurant is now underneath a few of the hotel rooms. The noise was not a problem at all. But, the restaurant erected these awnings, so their customers can eat outside. But when you are sitting on the outside balcony of your room above, you see these large green awnings obstructing the view of the boardwalk just below. I use to like watching the people walk by. Now, you can hear the people but you are not able to see them. Finally, their cancelation policy went from $35.00 to $50.00 per room. Totally outrageous for a hotel that usually gets fully booked without a problem. Would I ever go back? Maybe if I hit the lottery.

Dear LogCabinGuy,

Thank you for taking the time to review the Grand Harbor Inn again on your second visit. We appreciate your positive comments on the staff interactions, as we greatly value our guests feeling comfortable and at home during their stay. We feel our rates are appropriate for the quality of our rooms and certainly of our premiere location and understand that there are lower and higher priced options in Camden along with lower rate categories to chose from within our Inn as well. Our premier waterfront location also offers many advantages and amenities including the town of Camden being only steps from our doors; offering shops, galleries, eateries, historical walks and awe inspiring hikes and views.

I’m apologize that you feel our rooms are small as they range from 350 to 500 square feet, most of which are 450-475 square feet. We feel we have ample parking onsite for our 11 room property, as parking in Camden is always at a premium and offer this free of charge to our guests. We are sad to hear that the awnings from the restaurant below interfered with the enjoyment of your stay but please understand that this is not a new addition to the building as the outside dining existed prior to Grand Harbor Inn being built. With many cancellation policies having 14 day cancellation windows as well requiring the room to be re-booked prior to refunds, we feel our cancellation policy is the most flexible to travelers. You may also amend your reservation (lengthen or shorten) up to 4 days prior your arrival with no fee.

LogCabinGuy, we are greatly sorry to hear that you felt your stay was not of the same value as last year and sad to see such a low rating when you have mentioned so many highlights. As always, we look forward to welcoming you back with warm smiles and hospitality and wish you a very Happy Holiday Season!

Sincerely,
Erick Anderson

My wife and I had such a lovely time. It was our first time in Maine and we're so glad we found this place. The bed was more comfortable than our own. The place was quiet and cozy We were so pleased that we decided to make our trip a new tradition. I dont think we could stand to stay anywhere else. We hope to bring our kids next year. See you next year!!!!!!!!

We only stayed one night but we will definitely be returning in the future. Staff was very friendly. It was a very cold November day, so we really enjoyed the gas fireplace. Love the turn down service. It was so nice after an evening out to return to chocolates and a lavender sache on your bed with quiet music playing. The room had every convenience you could need-coffee, refrigerator, microwave and even popcorn. It is a great location. The jacuzzi tub and shower were comparable with high end resorts. Breakfast was included and delivered to your room. The breakfast was very good. Lots shops and restaurants so close we could walk everywhere. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the scenery from your room. Can't wait to return!

Dear Debbie G,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at the Grand Harbor Inn. We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed all aspects of your stay to include the fireplace, jacuzzi, invigorating rain and body jet shower along with other conveniences!

Our departure gift of lavender sachets are from Glendarragh Farm of Appleton, Maine and certainly provide a warm relaxing aroma and something to remember us by; we are so glad to hear you enjoyed yours!

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Grand Harbor Inn on your next relaxing retreat to the Midcoast.

From start to finish an incredible stay. The staff here are wonderful and accommodations are true luxury. Located on the seaside of Camden, the views are amazing and lots of nice walking areas for those who enjoy taking it all in. There are many nice restaurants in the area and several unique stores for those who like to shop. Lovely visit to a beautiful seaside community.
