The Beloins are fantastic. It reminded me of my grandparent's mountain cabin which was also built sometime in the 1930s or 1940s. The decor is also from that time...a real trip back in time. It's pretty minimal...beds, chairs, a table....a TV...and in the cottages, a kitchen with all you need to cook a nice meal. The owners set us up with a barbecue and were very helpful. The screened in porch was a big plus. Hearing the ocean while you go to sleep is one of the best things in the world. And the sunrise (which I set an alarm for, and then went back to bed) was spectacular. I love this place. If you want "luxury" or brand new amenities, try something on Main Street. But you'll be missing out on some great history here. The Beloins are genuine summer cabins the way they used to be.

Room tip: You want an Oceanside cottage. Or an Oceanside motel room.

What a fantastic location. Right on the rocky coast. So beautiful. The cabins are picturesque from the outside, inside they are big, have great windows and views and everything you could need. They just need some upgrades. The upholstered chairs by the terrific window were so old and yucky I didn't want to sit in them, carpets are grotty, and mattresses lumpy. But the hosts are absolutely wonderful, so you think for the location and a well stocked cabin at that price, ok. The Hosts did everything to accommodate us and even drove us to the hike we wanted to do. The owner is very knowledgeable about the local hiking and Camden Hill State park is right across the road. Just wish they would replace the chairs and maybe throw out the carpets. Wood floors could be cleaner.

Room tip: Stayed in 26, a duplex. No noise from neighbors, nice views from windows, a picnic table and bench outside the cabin, but no porch.

Rustic old fashioned charm. A bit shabby but who cares. You're on vacation. Relax, let your hair down. Leave your troubles behind. Enjoy the world class views. Cook-out on the cliffs overlooking the ocean, relax on lounge chairs to watch the sunrise and the moonrise. Hike up to Mt Battie and see the world from heaven's view. Breathe. Enjoy.

So what if it's old and the bathroom very small? The innkeepers were delightful, the location convenient, the room was clean. I really appreciated the wine glasses and coffee mugs! I loved our screened porch with the incredible view. Can't wait to go back.

This was our second time at Beloins. The first time we stayed in the motel up near the road. This time we stayed in a cabin on the ocean front. The view was spectacular, but that is the only thing that is good about this place. I understand being in Maine and wanting a rustic feel, but this rustic was just not done the right way. The owners really need to put some money into the place and fix things up. Just to name a few things... Our hot water was brown (I couldn't give my baby a bath), the refrigerator was not cold, paint was peeling everywhere, the decor is old, the beds are old, the foundation of the cabin is shaky so you feel like you have sea legs (even a day after leaving there I have sea legs still), the screens have holes. I could go on, but won't bore you. If they invested in fixing the place up they could make a lot more money on these cabin that are directly on the ocean! We will go somewhere else next time.
