I usually don't take the time to review my stays at hotels but had to make an exception to share my stay at the Camden River house. It was my first time in Maine and I couldn't have been more pleased with how put together and tasteful the hotel was. The hotel had a very "home" relaxed atmosphere, the rooms were cozy, and there was plenty of parking with no extra hidden daily fees. I can't wait to make another trip in the Spring/Summer months!

We went to Maine to go hiking and a weekend getaway. Camden was so beautiful. Love the hotel, very cute and charming. the weekend is exactly what we had hoped for, Maine in the fall is really the "way life should be."

This is a really cute hotel. Lots of pretty plants, vegetables, and sunflowers growing in front and by the parking lot. Inspiring for us to go home and grow more plants! Good amount of parking too. The hotel cozy and cute - with a tv, books, board games for kids, and a shared computer in the lobby. At nights, they do s'mores outside which is so cute and fun. The room was fine, with a mini refrigerator, comfy beds. I liked their continental breakfast, which included breads, make your own waffles, boiled eggs. I liked their dining room - again, it was cute and cozy.

It was my son's birthday, and he HATES being on vacation on his birthday. He would much rather be home, having a party with his friends, but because his birthday falls on the main travel times (last week in August) we tend to be traveling. Anyway, I asked the hotel if they could do something to acknowledge it (to cheer my son up!) and they had 4 beautiful cupcakes, a birthday balloon, and a card waiting for us when we arrived. That was really sweet of them and my 11 year old son was happy! I felt they went above and beyond with their thoughtfulness.

I would totally stay at this hotel again if we come here again! There are cute ducks off the bridge by the parking lot. Very scenic area...

We recently visited Camden, ME where we were astonished by the storm damage, snow and power outages from the recent storm. Therefore, several hotels were full-due to locals staying who had no power. The owner of the Riverhouse was renting his rooms for $59 (regularly $259) to help people without power. Even though we were not impacted by the storm, he honored the price for us also! We had a suite with kitchen, living area, fireplace and bedroom/bath. All within walking distance of the quaint harbor, lovely shops, and restaurants. Thank you-I will definately be back:)

Stayed for one night at the Camden Riverhouse Hotel while travelling through beautiful Maine. It feels like a friendly family run small hotel, which both gives it both charm as well as looking a little cluttered.

The staff were very helpful, including providing recommendations and making waffles at breakfast. The room was large, and included fridge, microwave and coffee machine.

For what looks like a relatively modern building, it is a bit noisy when people walk around on the floor above you or in the next room. The hotel did have a slight chlorine and burnt firewood smell. While the design of the interiors is not great, it is warm and homely.

Other things of note:
- Free wifi, but in our room only worked in certain spots
- Free car parking, and a good quiet spot on the local stream, yet very short walk to main street
- Water in sink was not hot - not great for shaving
- Breakfast fine, although paper plates and cups as you find in many US hotels

The open fire is a good place to chat to other guests and relax in the evening.

Room tip: Top floor would have less noise from other guests walking around
