I used Expedia and got an unpublished rate of $52.00 a night which I thought was really great for the weekend prior to the Boston marathon. We stayed for three nights as it was centrally located for our seven college visits (one was in upper CT). I was very disappointed and worried after I read many of the reviews before our trip concerning this hotel. I expected to be in a slum (my daughter wanted to bring a handgun, we brought a bat but never took it out of the car) in a disgusting, smelly hotel but was very surprised upon arrival. The hotel is next to a decent mall, right off the highway, and in the northwestern part of Brockton (considered the better/best part of the town demographically). The lobby was nice (the hotel is definitely a solid three star place) and there was no noticeable odor upom our many arrivals. I asked for a king size bed in a non-smoking room hoping that would increase my chances of getting a better room which I think worked out. Someone many clients ago may have smoked in the room but it was barely noticable. The room was clean, decorated okay with fresh linens and a very cozy bed (missed having a frig but having a hair dryer and coffee maker is always appreciated). The maid service was intermittent but accomodating if you requested things or services from them directly in the morning when they were there. The pool's heater wasn't fixed yet though the sign said the part had been ordered, the restaurant and lounge were closed as reported on other reviews but there were many other places to eat and drink close by. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was predictable but not awful. Overall a good experience especially for the price.
