We took a two room cottage that was surprisingly small, cleanliness was ok and furnishings were pretty basic. Felt more like a two-three star hotel bedroom than a fairly pricey B&B. Service was also relatively impersonal, except for two young guys serving breakfast who were good (so was the breakfast). The view is very good especially in the breakfast room and the neighborhood is nice for a short walk. The wireless Internet service was extremely poor, felt like dial up. When we talked to them, it was obvious this was a known issue that no one has bothered to deal with (easy enough for minimal expenditure). the whole place felt kind of tired and certainly lacked the charming, highly attentive, highly personal service where everyone goes out of their way to be helpful with suggestions, local knowledge, etc that one often gets at a B&B with all the trimmings and attention to detail in the rooms, sparkling cleanliness, etc .. We stayed at such a place the night before in Kennebunkport for the same price. Although the neighborhood was nice, we probably won't be back to this one. It needs a recommitment by management and staff to upgrading the facilities and service

I would like to personally apologize for the negative aspects of your stay, I completely agree that a B&B experience should be all about feeling like a home away from home. I am disappointed and saddened that you did not receive the high level of personal hospitality the majority of our guests experience.

In response to the wireless internet issue, we are aware of the problem and have been actively working on correcting it. We have had several visits from our IT guy over the past few weeks and have just installed a second, more powerful router in the effort to make an evenly strong signal in all of our rooms. I just tested the speed of the wireless on my laptop (speedtest.net) in various locations of the main building and have a download speed of 3.57 MB/s. If your particular device is still having issues with speed, you are always welcome to hang out in the chairs and couches in the lobby, the sea garden, or even outside on the porch, where I can assure perfect wireless service.
