My sister and I brought our 7 children ages 4 to 10 and they were all equally entertained. The 4 year old got a little antsy during the first 20 minutes - there is sitting and listening time. The trip was structured and had the children set up into groups. They learned while looking into microscopes, answering questions and role playing. Then they set out to work on the boat, testing the water, bringing up a lobster trap, using tools that I have never heard of. The touches star fish, crabs, lobster, fish. Well worth the money and time.
If you get sea sick, take your medicine. My sister and niece took theirs and they were good. I would say do not bring babies or toddlers - it would not be fun for either of you. Eat before you go, bring a water ( I think they let you). Wear sun block, bring a light jacket. Reservations are a good idea.
