You get what you pay for. Good price. Comfortable, large room, clean enough, easy access to Mayo. They have a free shuttle to Walmart. Really nice deck-porch with deck furniture. Lobby computer wasn't working, regardless of what front desk staff said, but wifi worked ok. Was an "older" property, but not falling apart. Some of the cosmetic things could use some updating, but yet not crucial or any "oh my God" moments. Best analogy I can think of - if you have ever lived in a mobile home you will be OK staying here, mainly from the point of view it is not "high dollar expectation" but meets the purpose. Only thing they might want to figure out a way to deal with, the floors apparently are original construction 7+ decades old, and squeak badly. I tried to be quiet walking down the hallway to my room, but it was impossible due to the squeaky floors (2nd floor). Thank goodness no one was in the room above mine on 3rd floor, lol. Minimal breakfast-snack items, but yet more than most other area hotels do. No real complaints, will stay here again.

Room tip: Ask for a room with a view of the ocean. :)

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Made reservation, got here after a 8 hour drive . . they said wouldn't honor our reservation because our billing address on credit card was a Rochester address - and they don't let anyone within 40 miles stay there. WHAT???????? After seeing the lobby, glad they didn't honor our reservation. Centerstone up the street had no problem taking our money! So, can't review the rooms . . . but happy for it! Did call manager to ask about their policy re: Rochester address . . . he never returned call.

Words cannot express the disgusting conditions of this disgusting hotel. No working lock on the door, bed bugs (see pictures), serious nasty staining on carpet all over, extension cords, holes in wall, holes in window screens, wires hanging out of wall socket, dirty disgusting filthy place should not even be open for business.

I am sorry that you were not happy with you stay at Travelers Hotel. We are inspected monthly for all pest and when there is a report of bed bugs they are here within 24 hrs. of report; we have never had bed bugs. Carpets are cleaned by professionals quarterly and when additional is needed. The lock was readjusted the very next day and works fine. This guest was refunded there stay for there concerns.

Worst experience ever. Did not get the room we had reserved, instead was stuck in a very unclean room. Had reserved for a month due to donating a kidney and a kidney transplant. I had to clean and sanitize the room before our surgeries. (peeling paint, no air conditioning, bad beds, leaking shower, toilet lid loose, etc...) Did not have time to relocate. Was promised a refund as we didn't stay the whole month, over a year later and still no sign of the refund which was over $200.00. Chalk this up for experience, will pay more and go some place else. Need to return to Mayo yearly and will not go close to this place. Our actual date was April-May, 2013, this date was not an option.

We do not guarantee a specific room number to any guest, as many are here for medical appointments and don't know how long they stay. We adjust our incoming reservations to accommodate the in-house guest; we offer this to all of our guest. If a guest is ending a monthly contract early we must charge sales tax if the stay is less than 30 days in length; per MN state policy. If there is a refunded needed to be sent out we also pay them back. If the guest would like to contact us we will look into there specific stay.

This is one of the worse hotels I have ever seen! The poor exterior, dim lighting, peeling paint, cobs, uneven floors, the list goes on. I even thought at one point I would find my mom outside of the room since the beds had wheels on them without any locking devices. Definitely not handicap accessible. I could piss harder than the water pressure in the shower. There were not toiletries in the room other than one bar of soap and a box of Kleenex. Wifi was not the best and the electrical outlets were all loose and could pull many things away from the wall that should be mounted. I really can't understand how this place can hold a housing license. The was no lock on the bathroom door, no exhaust fan. I really thought the rooms in this hotel should be only rented by the hour. It just goes to show you get what you pay for. If Steven Spielberg is looking for a set for a horror flick, this is the place
