We stayed in the palms place hotel for 4 nights in February this year, the hotel is gorgeous and our room was out of this world!! Two big TV's in the studio room, a TV in the bathroom, jacuzzi bath and massive bed! We we hoping for a room facing towards the strip but we got one that was facing into the desert - we didnt bother asking to change.
when we arrived at the hotel, we made our way to the reception which was quite busy with people milling around, I have to say that the hotel reception staff weren't very friendly seemed to take an instant dislike to us, I felt this was because we were British so I initially felt quite intimidated! We were also then told that there was a $100 per NIGHT accidentals deposit which needed to be secured on a credit card, both me & my boyfriend dont have credit cards and debit cards weren't accepted. We advised we were never made aware of this when we made the booking - I work in travel myself and I know any payable deposits should normally be advised when booking. They agreed to let us pay $200 cash as a deposit.
If you're staying at the hotel you get half price drinks in the casino - which is great because the drinks are pricey! We weren't aware of this until we heard another couple staying at the hotel mention it.
Before we booked when we looked at the map of the strip the hotel didnt look that far away but its actually about a 25 minute walk down quite a busy road, not bad in a taxi but in the scorching heat it wasnt great! If the hotel was closer to the strip I would definitely consider staying here again but there are so many amazing hotels on the strip I'd probably stay somewhere else, caesars palace if I had the chance!!!!
Overall we had an amazing time and its not a bad hotel, the distance from the strip & the rude staff let it down!
