My sister, her daughter and myself wanted to treat ourselves to a mini vacation by going to a spa. After looking at several spas we opted for this one. The view from our cabin (#7) was spectacular. Drinking coffee in the morning and relaxing in the evening enjoying the view was quite relaxing. The spa treatments were amazing! We really enjoyed the breakfast and just loved the afternoon snack, especially the summer sangria. The cabin was well equipped. A concern we had was that in our cabin all the window air conditioners were hooked up with extension cords. In fact the one in my room required two cords to reach the outlet. Not only did it not look good it was probably a safety issue. Also the pool is located down a steep hill with an access that is somewhat tricky to navigate. I don't use any walking device but do have a hip problem. I made it down once to the pool but it wasn't worth trying it again. It's a nice pool but hard to get to.

Room tip: Request a cabin with a view of the lake. Not all of them will have one.

It's not right on the lake but the view is quite stunning of Lake Fontana the distance. The owner let my husband start a large campfire & roast sausages! They are affordably pet friendly. Complimentary cheese & wine/gourmet coffee at 5pm plus healthy mini breakfast with all the trimmings. Well done Tom & crew!

You must really be prepared to disconnect from the world when you stay here. There are no TVs or phones in the room and cell reception is spotty. Incongruently, the hotel does provide free WiFi (you have to be near the office to sign in) and there is a TV room open round-the-clock for those who begin to tremble when there are no bars on their cell phone for more than an hour.

Lakeview is reminiscent of villas one finds in the Greek Islands and the Mediterranean. Very relaxing. It's a great place for a couple, or couples, who want to spend the day hiking, rafting or zip-lining and the evenings lingering over a glass of wine and conversation.

Room tip: It really doesn't matter what room you're in. The real experience is outside the room. The room is just a place to sleep.

We had a lovely stay at Lakeview and met some of the nicest people who were all at the same place in life as we were. All kids out of the home, getting away more alone and crossing over 55.
The spa services were lovely and the meet and greet wine and cheese evenings went into the night with our new friends. We will go back and hopefully this time stay longer. Location is perfect for peace and a meal in town was 3-10 miles away.

Room tip: We had the room over the office and had a nice porch that overlooked Lake Fontana. Fabulous sunsets!!!

We visited Lakeview at Fontana for a second trip and enjoyed it as much or more than our first visit last year. The feel of Lakeview is very similar to our experience in Carmel, California. The quaintness and charm of this place is very nice and relaxing. We stayed 3 nights this time and found it hard to leave. We enjoyed our spa massages, the hors d'oeuvres each evening and the breakfast with pastries, yogurt, granola, and all the nice eats for your morning to get started right. Paddle boarding on nearby lake Fontana was especially fun as we were able to paddle to a beautiful waterfall. The scenery here is so beautiful you will not be disappointed.

Room tip: The king suite above the check in area is very nice. You have your very own balcony and view of Lake Fontana!
