It was our first visit to the Forest of Dean, but will not be our last. And the place we'll stay will be this charming, friendly hotel. All the people there were really friendly; and they made my wife, our Golden Retriever and myself very, very welcome. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast. (Nigel, the owner, even cooked me some of the lovely black pudding that I had the night before as a treat - delightful) The rooms were comfortable, the facilities were adequate, and Clearwell is such a beautiful, and peaceful place, we slept undisturbed. I would recommend this Hotel to any one: especially those who own and love dogs, and are looking for a relaxed break in one of the loveliest parts of England. The stay for three nights and pay for two is really good value, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit.
