We live in Seattle and when my wife wants her beach "fix" we head to Cannon Beach and this is the second year we stayed at The Waves. CB is about the beach not about night life which is why we go there. Enough good restaurants to make a 3 day stay work. Ocean front rooms on the first level are the way to go. Buy some wine for the evening, walk on the beach during the day, and visit with the local shop keepers and other locals. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. don't wait too late in the season. Sunny weather makes the stayt even more fun. Enjoy.

Room tip: First floor ocean front rather than ocean view.

I stayed at The Waves on a recent trip to the Oregon coast. This was my first trip to Oregon and The Waves made my stay memorable. We had a second floor room on the beach with a spectacular view. The room had a fireplace that we used in the evenings - wonderful to take the chill off. The bed was very comfortable, had a nice kitchen area and everything was clean. The location couldn't have been better for walking around Cannon Beach. The folks in the office were particularly nice and very helpful on recommendations for restaurants and things to do in and around Cannon Beach. They even stayed late in the office to welcome us at our 11:30 pm arrival! I would defintely stay at the Waves again.

Room tip: Upstairs, ocean side rooms offer spectacular views.

I recently stayed at The Waves and thoroughly loved it. I had a fireplace, wonderful view of the Ocean, a Lanai and a nice little, fully functional kitchen. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I would definitely recommend The Waves and I'll definitely stay there again.

We just came back from staying at The Waves this past weekend. We had a bright, modern unit on the top floor with a great view of "Old Tilly." The room looked like it had recently been upgraded, so the furniture was new and the bed was excellent. (The TV was still the old tube-type, but then we weren't at the beach to watch TV.)

The upside to the hotel is that it is close to both the beach and downtown. It is, however, about as far away from Haystack Rock as you can get and still be in Cannon Beach.

Room tip: Definitely choose a room on the top floor. Lots of foot traffic going by the hotel.

This was my first trip to the Oregon Coast and Cannon Beach and The Waves did not disappoint. Stayed in a 2 bed upper level unit (#104) with vaulted ceiling that was recently remodeled. Perfect size for an overnight trip with a friend. Within a block of the beach, shops and restaurants. Heart of downtown Cannon Beach. Would definitely stay here again.
