We had a very pleasant stay in Neskowin, a tiny town on Highway 101. There's not much to the town -- it mostly seems to be comprised of the little strip which contains the Proposal Rock Inn, Hawk Creek Cafe, a convenience store, and small post office. There is a big beautiful beach behind the Inn, and many of the rooms overlook it.
The Proposal Rock Inn rents out studios, suites, "bedrooms" (like regular hotel rooms), and condos. We were interested in saving money, so we stayed in a bedroom facing the parking lot. I think we paid around $50 for the night -- a great rate for the OR Coast! Our room was comfortable and adequate; with the plush carpeting, small tv, and non-standard furniture, we kind of felt like we were staying in someone's house! (except for the in-room sink).
The place was pretty full when we were there, but it was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. We spent some time on the beach the next morning, and it was very nice and not at all crowded.
The Proposal Rock Inn is right next door to the Hawk Creek Cafe. We had a delicious dinner there -- the service was great and the food was very fresh. Good thing, too, because it seems to be the only place to eat in Neskowin!
