Location: On the waterfront right next to the Heinz Stadium. Easy to get to when there is no stadium event.
Parking: Seems to be ample parking for members at $3, $5 for non-members and $7 during events.
Cost: If you have a reciprocal membership from another science centre, admission will be free. Check your membership privileges at your home science centre.
Attractions: The enjoyment factor depends on the age of your children.
We spent quite a bit of time at the SportsWorks which is a separate building. You must have your wristband before entering. There is a lot of physical attractions such as throwing a baseball the regulation distance where your throw velocity is clocked. A chance to sprint. A trampoline. Some virtual attractions such as a trip inside the human body or a virtual roller coaster. A rock climbing wall. A giant bubble hockey game and a few more. It was remarkably quiet when we went so we were able to try it all. If your children are 8-15, try this first in case it gets busy.
Submarine. There is an actual 1945-1968 submarine in the water (air conditioned) which you can walk through to see life on board. There are props and a few computer touch screen panels for children to touch.
Second Floor: Robo world and the model train is here. The trains show is nice for smaller children. The tiny model world is also animated in places where little figures move (only a few). Robo world was nice for a look.
Third Floor: Sea world was brief. Not that much to see.
Fourth Floor: Very hands on here. There is a water attraction to play with, a section for toddlers, an earthquake demonstrator, a bug game that four people can play and a few other things.
Cafeteria. On the ground floor. Prices were reasonable with the usual pizzas, burgers, hot dogs. Comes with a bit of a view of the river.
Overall: Good for visit of 2-4 hours. This is a nice attraction to come to with the children. There is a variety of things to see at different age groups. We found you could get a good sense of most things within 3-4 hours. The waterfront is also nicely renovated so if you are in the area, give it a try.
