This coming summer will be the ninth year we will make our annual pilgrimage to Block Island and staying at the OTI. There are several reasons why we continue to stay at this charming inn. The quiet location of the Inn is only about 15 minutes from town offering a nice walk to the shops and restaurants. Being away from the sounds and traffic of town is one of the main reasons we continue to stay at the OTI. We enjoy starting off the day with a brisk walk. The airport, greenways or just walking off the beaten path are all nearby.
We find that our room provides all the basic needs for a relaxing vacation: the room is clean, comfortable, and is adequately furnished. The view from our window of the expansive back yard and the distance ocean is perfect while drinking a glass of wine or morning cup of tea. A few more coat hangers and a firmer mattress would be nice but overall we have been quiet happy with our accommodations.
Eating breakfast at one of the round tables with a colorful tablecloth under the glass table top, in the bright dining room is a highlight of our stay. There are plenty of choices for beverages from tea to juices, assorted freshly baked breads, various fruits, and a different hot dish is served each morning. Meals can be enjoyed inside or on the deck protected from the sun by the big table umbrellas.
If you want the convenience of staying in town then this is not the place for you. If you want some great walks, great views of the night sky, a yummy breakfast, and quiet location to take an afternoon nap then make your reservation. There is ample parking and a bike rack. The owners of the Inn are very knowledgeable about Island happenings, recommending restaurants and will gladly make dinner reservations for you. The Innkeepers will do all possible to ensure your visit is relaxing, comfortable, and memorable.
