My husband, teenage son and I stayed here 1 night for my birthday. It was a last minute thing and Patriots Day weekend, and we were told the only rooms available were 1 queen or a suite, so we took the suite. It was in the historical building, 2 separate BRs (1 with a queen and the other had 2 queens) each with own bathroom and flat screen tv, as well as a living room with pullout sofa, flat screen with Direct tv, small dinette set and a fridge/micro. Tons of closets, also! We were happy, plenty of space BUT it was right across from the laundry room, which was a busy area and was noisy in the AM. Walls are THIN in this original building. Right across from Easton's Beach, a definite plus. Small pool and jacuzzi in the adjacent bldg, but we loved the roof top jacuzzi and firepit, which we enjoyed watching the sunset. The only drawback was we had to go across the street to utilize, as the facilities were in the new building. Not bad, as it was a mild weekend in April, but a bit chilly when you are coming back all soaked. I had specifically asked the front desk reservationist if there was a connection walkway between the two buildings and he said yes, but he barely spoke English, so making the reservation was very painful and apparently this point got lost in translation. Parking was convenient across the street, but I felt
fortunate we were there in the off season, as they charge a daily fee during the peak season.
I was not feeling well, so my husband and son went down to the restaurant. Besides a few couples at the bar, it was empty (that should have been a red flag!). They told the waiter that they only wanted appetizers, but he brought them a reg dinner menu. Thinking this was all that was available, they reluctantly ordered from the limited, pricey menu. While waiting, they heard the bartender tell the customers they had a bar menu with apps, burgers, etc --never offered by Mark, the waiter. When asked, he said that was only offered at lunch --what?? Anyway, my son ended up with lukewarm clam chowder, and my husband's entree was FROZEN in the middle. He sent back and was RE-SERVED the same entree, cut down with the frozen section taken out - unbelievable! Mark kept blaming the "new cook" - soooo, my son and husband left and refused tp pay for the meals, with no issue, but returned to the room hungry and irritated. Besides the restaurant and room location, the only other negative would be the trash was full when we arrived. For the layout of the room, pricing, and proximity to the beach, I'd give the hotel 8 out of 10 and would come again, requesting a suite in the new building. Also had a fantastic lunch at the Atlantic Beach Club right across the street, would highly recommend!
Request a room inthe new building, top floor, furthest from pool/rooftop if you want quiet
