I asked for ocean view and Alex was able to oblige. The heat would not work. Maintenance was there to fix it at 8 p.m.Friday. Thank you, Johnny.
Skip the breakfast. Buffet only and not worth $10.95. TV Channels limited. No local NBC affiliate.
Staff members always friendly and willing to help.

Room tip: Must get ocean view.

I exchanged my timeshare in St. Thomas for a week at this resort. My timeshare in St. Thomas is incredible this place not so much. I will say the location is great but that is about all that I found to be up to a timeshare standard. We had a two bedroom two bath ocean front place which was very roomy. But the interior is in desperate need of a remodel. The furniture is ugly, outdated, dirty and so uncomfortable. For some reason this resort thinks it is nice to put ugly and dusty artificial plants throughout the room. The TV has a horrible selection of channels, it doesn't even offer NBC. We tried numerous times to get connected to the Wifi with no success. The lobby of this building is like walking into a Shoney's or Denny's restaurant b/c of the smell of greasy breakfast food and outdated tables and chairs. This is suppose to be a family resort so why would they build a lap pool? How many people use a lap pool at a family resort. Therefore I find their pool area not up to par either. In the morning there are numerous staff members throughout the lobby and Denny's looking restaurant trying to sell timeshares to guests. These staff members don't look or sound very professional from what I witnessed. I overheard one of the salesmen say that the place use to be a Holiday Inn and was purchased by Westgate in 2004 but it is not up to Westgate standards yet. So 10 years later they still haven't upgraded this place to the Westgate timeshare standards. Our concierge told us that the half finished parking garage has been like that for years b/c of some legal issues with the contractor which pushed back the big overall construction plan. I was very upset that I traded away my place in St. Thomas and got this in return. I would rate this place a 3 out of 10. When checking out the guy at the front desk didn't even say "How was your stay? Thank you for staying with us. Instead just took my keys" Never plan to return. Don't sell your place as an upscale timeshare when you basically just fixed up an old Holiday Inn.

Stayed for a long weekend while visiting family in the area. Check in went smoothly, but when we returned for the evening we were ordered to park across the street because we weren't VIP's. When I asked at the front desk what that was all about, I was told the time share people get to park in the lot, no one else. Whatever, we were over it. Outdoor bar was nice, bartenders good. Room was average, but the housekeeping was NOT good. The bathroom was never cleaned as part of the room cleaning each day. The towels and soap were replaced but nothing was wiped down or cleaned. Unacceptable.
Anyone that has been to MBeach knows they have a hundred options for beachfront hotels---I would recommend you skip this one.

Room tip: Asked for ocean view, but when we got there we were told there were none available.

Thank you for your input. We appreciate your comments as we are always looking for areas of improvement. Since we are a timeshare resort our cleaning schedule works a little different. Our housekeeping does a mid-week cleaning for guests that are staying a week. Since we are not a hotel we do not offer daily cleaning however, if there is anything that you feel needs to be cleaned you are more than welcome to contact front desk and they can send someone to your room for anything you might need. We certainly apologize about the issue concerning the parking. We are in the process of expanding our parking options as well as our resort. We really hope you will give us another change to exceed your expectations.

Alex at the front desk saved our weekend! What would have been a mundane, non-special hotel stay in a tiny, ordinary room, Alex singlehandly turned into a luxurious high end, 3 room mini-suite!
At no additional cost! I had booked our weekend getaway through Priceline and it automatically reserved a single, bottom of the line room with no extras at Westgate. At check in, I decided to ask the friendly, down to earth 'Alex' about the possibility of an upgrade, but once he told me the price for an upgrade (around $50 in addition to what I already paid after booking online) I had to reluctantly decline the upgrade and told Alex to keep the reservations as they originally were.
But Alex didn't hesitate for a second, he instantly upgraded my reservations from the original double queen room with parking lot view to a MUCH larger, much nicer, high-end mini suite - a luxurious master bedroom with its own private, oceanfront balcony, a separate living room complete with gorgeous furnishings, a huge flat screen tv and a its own SECOND private balcony, adjacent to a perfect little fully stocked kitchen!!!

Not only did he upgrade our accommodations substantially at NO additional charge, he also waived the resort fees as well.
I am especially thankful for Alex because financially speaking, I don't know when/if we could ever have afforded a weekend getaway in a fabulous, upscale resort suite. He made it happen though!
So thank you ALEX, you went out of your way to provide the basis for what turned out to be our best weekend ever and I am truly appreciative for all you did for us!
