We booked a condo at the resort on-line and had no idea what to expect. The resort was fantastic for our family of three kids (10,14 and 16). Our condo was spotless and in the best location on the whole resort. My advice is to get ocean front - even if it is only one bedroom. Ours slept the five of us with no problem. One bedroom with a double bed, two bunks in an alcove and a full sized pull out sofa. The amenities were terrific. The lazy river, the huge pool in front of our balcony, the nightly fireworks, the beach, the activities for my 10 year old daughter with three "leaders" supervising at all times. The cleanliness of the resort was maintained beautifully and the staff were everywhere at all times and so helpful. The laundry room on each floor was very handy for us and very convenient to use. The kids loved the whole experience and we are just sorry it took us this long to discover the place. I would highly recommend this resort for a family vacation.

I was so excited when I found this "2 Bedroom" Oceanfront condo in the Baptist Courier - which for those of you who don't know this is a church based newspaper. I spoke with the homeowner many times prior to my trip, I had a budget that I needed to stay in and they helped me meet that budget for which I'm thankful for. She just raved over how nice the condo was - how much we would enjoy our trip - but little did I know I was walking into a disaster - when I entered the "1 Bedroom" condo I was just sick to my stomach - the very small condo was awful - as you entered the walls were nasty, they were beat up where people had tried to unload their carts inside - the entry way was nasty had cob webs in the corners had holes in the walls, then as you continued down the hallway it had what was considered bunk beds which consisted of two slabs of boards nailed to the walls with what looked like a shower curtain run thru a rod hanging down over them as I guess for privacy with cigarette burns all in it, then I made it to the bedroom - another let down literally if you stood at the foot of the bed you coould not walk on either side of the bed without turnning to your side it was so small, so venture into the bathroom, very out dated wall paper with torn places where the towel rack had been moved and had exisitng holes in walls and wallpaper from the move - look up to the ceiling big holes where the textured ceiling was coming down, all of whic I took pitcures upon entering to make sure I could not be blamed for any of this

So as I ventured to the kitchen-living area - have mercy - I had the most miserable time of my life on a vacation - the kitchen counter was so small you could not even move to cook - the kitchen sink was a one sink that was about the size of a camper sink maybe smaller - it was impossible to wash dishes and cook - I had to go get a tub to set on the floor and fill with hot water to wash the dishes then try to rinse in the sink -

The furniture was so outdated, the couch looked like it had been in the condo since the 1960's and was so uncomfortable then it had a wicker chair that was dated - the kitchen table was okay just dated - the t.v. was so small that it was hard for more than two people to sit and enjoy - nothing matched the decor was just thrown in -

Also someone came into our room without our permission - we have no idea who it was or whythey entered but that was a invasion of our privacy - when they had not just casue to enter.

My husband and I made sure the Condo was very very clean upon our departure - we cleaned the kitchen - fridge - vacumned had everything back in order the only thing I didn't do was scrub the bathroom down and I would like to think as a hygiene issue the home owners would take care of that even though I did spray the tub down with cleaner prior to leaving -

Said had free wifi - NOT - had to rush to Barnes & Nobles to take webex tele conference call.

One word of advice - if you every rent from a individual please make sure you call the resort and ask for th HOA - Home Owners Assocation - make sure that you get a rating on condo - if I were to rate this Condo it would be minus zero, if I had rented this Condo from a rental agency I would have been demanding my money back - I had bragged to fellow church members about this find on the Condo before leaving for vaction and even had one call and ask how it was they wanted to see about renting it - I would have just died if they had rented this on my word prior to my coming down.

The ONLY good thing this Condo had going for it was location the view was wonderful from the Oceanfront -

Myrtle Beach Resort on the other hand was awsome - it was clean, well kept, the grounds were very manicured - the security was awsome - it had evey amenity you could ask for, I would very much love to bring my family back to stay - just in another condo,

Just keep in mind folks the resort itself was wonderful just the unit I had was bad!!!

We surprised my family and decided to stay at this resort. We had stayed many
many times in myrtle beach and always rented a house. Well we decided to try
this resort out. It was awful. The first condo we were in was dirty and needed
new carpet, mattresses, pillows and updated kitchen. It also smelled and had
broken locks. We have 2 year old twins and were terrified there were going to
get out on the balcony. We called early the next day and they did switch us to
a nicer room and told us to fill out a comment card that was suppose to be in
our envelope.(yea right) We also had plumbing problems in our new condo in which
my husband had to crawl under the sink and turn the hot water off do to it
leaking. We were told to call in the morning to fix it. We were leaving the next
day so my husband told them we he returned the key and they told us to notify
security and fill out a comment card again. The security person looked at us
like we had two heads and informed us that they have not had comment cards in
about a year. Well, i guess that is there way of not getting any bad reviews.
Well here is one. Do not stay here very old and needs serious updates.

If you want a resort, do not come here. MB Resort is not a resort.

Booked at last minute for a week preceding July 4 week. Actually we check out tomorrow - thank goodness. Here's why I would not recommend this so called resort. Check in was uneventful. Clerk was very nice and made sure our condo was clean and ready.

Resort - This is not a "resort". Very large stretch to call this a resort. It is a large complex of condos which are pointed towards parking unless you are in the tower bldg. Don't be fooled by any ocean view. If you are not on the front units or in the tower, you may be able to see ocean horizon over the parking lot. If you want to be packed in with the rest of the north east travelers, 2/3 of Ohio and Kentucy folks all their kids and rowdy teenagers and their friends, then this place is for you. The pools were too crowded due to all of the people here this week. The lazy river is a 1000 yards from the beach. So imagine the whole gang walking back and forth from/to beach. Recession? What recession? No real restaurant on site - whomever Ned is he seems to have all of your food needs. If you like pizza, fries and chicken fingers it's a great selection for a resort... Beach bar is ok. Drink prices are steep. 16 oz beer will cost you $5 and their frozen drinks cost 7-9 bucks. The convenience store is ok to buy what you are missing. Bag of ice at the time of this review was $2.50 plus tax.

Location on Strand - MB resort on Hwy 17 (Kings Hwy) between two of the largest Campgrounds on the beach. Traffic is terrible getting in and out of this "resort". This is due to the traffic area where Hwy 544 deads ends onto Hwy 17. My advice if you come to this "resort" in the summer months. Bring your patience. You will need it.

Restaurants - There are chain restaurants within 10 miles north or south of the "resort". However, you will need to eat dinner at 4pm or 10pm. Otherwise, if you travel down the beach to Murrell's Inlet to eat seafood. Better make a night of it. If you travel north to places like Broadway at the Beach or Barefoot landing - well - you better make a night of it there too. Make sure you have your GPS with you. It will help you get off the beaten path to get around traffic areas.

Beach at the MB "resort" - worst part of the beach I've been to on the strand. One reason is that the lifeguards impose a line of umbrellas which they rent. The line where they put their umbrellas and chairs makes it a very, very small beach during high tide. With the amount of people that are staying here, the beach is as packed as Martha's vineyard in JAWS. It was so crowded, you could not walk down the beach.

Security - they actually do a good job here with security. If you have friends or want someone to visit your condo, you will have to jump through a few hoops to get a parking pass for them. Just wish they could do something about the noise people make in Bldg A and B. We stayed in Bldg B and kids were constantly running up and down the hallway. Lots of families with teenagers here and most were very respectful. However, others decided they were on spring break. Yelling from balconies, etc... This is not the place to come if you want rest and relaxation. Again, this is not a "resort". Bring ear plugs with you. You can hear sliding glass doors slam, doors slam, toilets flushing, people walking and running upstairs, etc... Reminds me of my first apartment experience. Much better condos on the strand to stay here.

So why didn't we leave? Prepaid for the week. So we made the best of it. However, I would highly recommend staying somewhere else.

If you like this "resort" good for you. But my review of this "resort" will stand. There are much better places to stay on the Grand Strand. How do I know? I've stayed in them. Reason I booked this place because it was a last minute reservation during the week preceeding July 4. So the normal places were already booked. Next time I'll stay at home!

This resort sometimes gets a bad rap. I've been to the resort many times and have stayed in a variety of different units of varying size a quality. It's important to understand the resort is NOT A HOTEL but a collection of privately owned condos and each building on the resort is independly governed and operated. Therefore each building is different in quality and style.

The actual resort staff is really only responsible for the grounds. Most units are rented by agencies, but some are rented by private owners. The condo's rented by private owners tend to be much nicer. Look around online and you can find many owners private rental pages. In addition, because these condo's are privately owned there is no maid service and there are no usually no towels and sheets provided. Many owners do offer exit cleaning at the of the week for a small fee.
