I just had the opportunity to spend one night at the Hilton Garden Inn in Rapid City SD. The hotel is fairly new and as a result my GPS would not locate the address. However, with a quick phone call, the front desk staff provided me with a near by business, which allowed for easy access. As I mentioned the hotel is fair new so the carpets and furnishings are in excellent condition. The room contained a micro-wave oven and a small fridge. There was also a large flat-screen television and an oversized chair. The bed was a select-number mattress and the pillows were nice and comfortable. The bath room allowed for plenty of space for the over-night bag. The shower was spacious with new shower head. The Hilton Garden Inn has a small bar area and restaurant. I had breakfast at the hotel and the cook prepared everything just the way I asked.
While there are many reasons to stay at this hotel, but perhaps the best reason is the staff. I was greeted at the front desk by a new staff member that was actually in training. After a couple of minutes of confusion, Joni took over and placed me in the wonderful room I mentioned above. Joni provided me with suggestions for dinner and even offered to print my boarding pass for my flight the next morning. I stay in approximately 200 different hotels a year (a true road warrior), and I can honestly say that Joni provided me with the best customer service I have ever experienced. She was not only competent, but also personable and highly professional. I was able to express my gratitude to the hotel manager and plan to contact the corporate Hilton offices to inform them of just was a great stay I had at the Hilton Garden Inn.
This hotel is approximately 15 miles from the hotel, but a free shuttle service is available. I am sure there are many hotels in the Rapid City area, but you will not go wrong with this hotel. When you check in at the hotel, ask for Joni-you will receive excellent service!
