After our wedding in Corrie on the Saturday, we'd invited all of our guests to the Corrie Hotel the following day for a relaxed drink or three. Thankfully the weather was fair and we had use of the huge beer garden across the road. Inside, the lounge was packed with people and the staff were attentive to the constant stream of orders while also looking after the bar customers next door.
We had booked some food (pie and beans!) in advance, which went down a treat! Bar meals were available throughout the day and some people enjoyed great quality food (to go along with their pints). The party carried on long into the night and everyone made use of the large lounge, and the jukebox and pool table next door. Eventually the party called it a night and people headed back to Brodick and elsewhere.
We stayed in a family room, which had a comfortable double bed and single bed in an adjoining room. Nice views across to the mainland (on a clear day of course). There was a sink with fresh towels in the room, and a large communal bathroom located down the hallway.
Breakfast was plentiful and there was a good menu to choose from. After a few Arran ales from the night before I was happy to be presented with a good Scottish breakfast, with cereal, juice and coffee/tea options.
Overall, the hotel is in an excellent and beautiful location, with great staff and value for money rooms. The bedrooms might not imitate the Ritz but why would you need that when stopping-off between hillwalking, cycling, etc on the island?
