I had made an advanced reservation because my friends had reserved there, but was given the room rate of someone who had not made an advanced reservation since the reservation was made less than a week in advance. I was charged nearly $200 for one night of sleeping in a bed for less than 7 hours. The breakfast on Saturday morning was awful. The OJ tasted bad and all they had was cereal and some fake eggs that tasted like rubber. I was given a handicapped room - though I had not requested one - they had never indicated they were giving me that. I was in a rush to see friends in the area so I did not take the time to ask to change the room. You'd think they'd give you a discount for reserving a room inadvance (guaranteed money for them). There was a no-refund-for-cancellation-policy as well - thats just bad business, esp if they had so much business. (My friends wanted to cancel, too, but stayed only one night since they couldnt cancel and didnt want to be charged $200 for nothing). The room was missing washcloths and hand towels and the bath towels that were in the room were wet and one seemed used and not cleaned. There were bugs in the bathroom which I had to kill, and the bedroom lights were poorly placed and the room poorly lit. The bathroom door opened smack in the way of the room door and also opened so that it was open to the room doorway - real nice for privacy, and for going to the bathroom at night when you have to open the door outwards and furthest away from the direction of the bed. Awful experience, WAY overpriced (financial rape!) and not so great rooms or hotel to begin with. Awful entry and exit to hotel on major roadway that is 5-6 lanes wide. Narrow entrance road with unclear signage, right next to another hotel and parking lot. Terrible view of the mechanicals and the woods from my room. The only redeeming feature was a comfortable king bed. Other than that - it sucked. I will NEVER go back.

I've stayed at over thirty Hampton Inn locations and this one is the best so far! Excellent service and the room (403) was large and nicely appointed.

I was greated at the desk by very friendly staff and was given a better rate than published on this site. Was allowed to view a room before reserving the room. The hotel offers beverage bar (coffee, tea and hot chocolate) all the time. Breakfast room small but adequate. Sausage patties and french toast were the warm breakfast entrees. The only problem with the property was the carpet looked a little worn in the halls and there was food under the bed skirt in the room. The bathroom was spotless. I have stayed in worse places. We travel to Williamsburg frequently to visit family and we will return to this hotel.

We stayed here for a weekend, and was pleasantly surprised by the overall appearance of the hotel. We expected mediocre and got way more. The rooms are beautiful with all the amenities. The bathrooms are gorgeous, but the sink is not practical for short ppl (not a problem for us). The sink is awkward (it sticks out)...you have to be atleast 5'4" to actually brush your teeth or wash your face. The hotel has a lovely indoor and outdoor pool; we spent a lot of time in the outdoor pool. The hotel is close to all the attractions. I will be staying here the next time I visit Williamsburg; loved it!
