We stayed here a year ago and got what I thought was a great rate for a hotel in the area. We decided to go back to Sequim this year and stay at the same place, the Quality Inn and Suites. I found out that this hotel is now under new management, which apparently means the prices can sky rocket because "Sequim is such a big destination this time of year". That means the rate was almost $50 more per night than last year when I stayed here on the same exact weekend. I was able negotiate down the rate, but it was still more than I paid last year. The price hike would have been warranted if improvements or amenities were added to the hotel, but that is not the case. We upgraded to suite as well, which is not really a suite. It's the same room as a double queen room, but with a King bed and a sofa. Again, totally not worth it.
Breakfast was mediocre at best. When you're paying $140+ a night for a hotel room, you would at least expect a decent breakfast. No eggs, no meat, no fruit... just cereal and pastries along with a waffle bar which is the only thing that made going to breakfast here worth it. They also served some of the worst coffee I ever had along with extremely watered down juice. Didn't expect to get bad coffee while being so close to Seattle.
We will look elsewhere the next time we come to Sequim. I feel sorry for the staff that work there who tried their best to make the hotel enjoyable, but are being held down by the new management.
