I like the Super 8 product because we don't particularly want all the hotel frills, just a reasonable sized clean room to sleep in, a straight forward breakfast, and preferably paying under $80 at check out. Also Super 8 seems to be a franchise operation so more often than not the owner is closely involved in the day-to-day running of the business including the face-to-face customer service aspects.

Of the 10 or so Super 8's we stayed in during this vacation the Cheyenne was the least impressive. If you are a light sleeper avoid this location, it has freight trains sounding their horns as they leave the section on a very nearby and busy 24/7 rail route, or take some earplugs as my wife did. The room was clean but felt a bit cramped with two beds and we had little space to move around in. The breakfast was fine. The clerk on checkout was clearly not having a good day and the transaction was perfunctory at best. What did annoy me was that one night here cost me $94.50 which was by far the highest I paid at any Super 8, this included a $1 safe fee which I did not ask for or need. Interestingly a 20 fl oz bottle of Coke from the vending machine was a whopping $2 whereas at every other Super 8 we stayed at it was $1.25. That about sums it up.

We were walk-ins, driving by on the freeway. Check-in was painfully slow because of the new clerk. The room was adequate with no extras, except a safe. The bathroom could have been cleaner. We walked to an Outback Restaurant, only 1/3 mile away, for a good dinner. We slept well, even though a busy railroad is across the street. We never found an ice machine, if there was one. Check-out was unprofessional. We didn't use the safe and reported that at check-out. The desk clerk was very snippy about having to take the $1 charge off our bill. So, our final contact with staff was negative and that's what we'll remember.

This was a place for us to sleep so it met it's purpose. There isn't anything special about it. It's a Super 8, a place to sleep and shower.

We stayed here for 2 nights this month (June) and found the motel very much acceptable. The room was large and clean, and the whole building gave us the impression of being clean. We didn't think that the railroad noise that bad. We had the kind of weather where neither the AC nor the heat was needed, so er turned the AC to fan only and we couldn't hear the railroad during the night.

We only had one bad experience and that happened during check-in. We booked and paid for a king-size room with micro, fridge, desk, and recliner. The clerk checked us into a queen-size with nothing. We were told the kind of room we booked are all filled. So after a little arguing we accepted a 2-bed room, but at least we had the fridge we needed.
