Spent 4 nights in the Aloha suite at Kaanapali shores in November, 2007. Although the room was slightly dated and our kitchen not remodeled, the view from the "L" shaped balcony made me forget everything I would have normally found disappointing. The Aloha suites are ocean front and provide a spectacular view of the beach, pool and ocean, just yards away. We had many enjoyable , meals on the patio and enjoyed the sounds of the ocean with the balcony doors of the master bedroom open at night. Had not been to Hawaii in over 10 years and the return trip with our children was made very special by our stay here. The pools were great, the ocean in front was very swimmable for our kids ages 6-12. The restaurant was nice, with a good menu selection. After our 4 nights in the Aloha suite, (All that was available upon booking) We moved to the recently completed Marriott Lahaina towers. Although new and nicley decorated with granite countertops and stainless appliances, the view did not compare and the entire property much too commercialized for our tastes.More
