My wife and I and another couple stayed in a two bedroom townhome at The Bayview 8/9/09 to 8/14/09. We didn't know anything about the place except for what we read on Tripadvisor. It was our first trip to Bar Harbor and did we luck out!! What a great place the Bayview turned out to be. Our townhome was spotless. The staff couldn't have been nicer and they bent over backward to make sure everything was just right. The free breakfast was sensational. We loved the free shuttle/pickup service to downtown which kept us from trying to find parking or having to designate a driver for the evening. The views from the Bayview are beautiful. The afternoon cookies and coffee/tea were something we looked forward to after a day of biking or climbing in Acadia.
If you play golf, Kebo Valley was a fun course only about a mile away from the hotel. We would also highly recommend driving up to Cadillac Mountain for a sunset. If it's a clear evening, bring plenty of film.
Now that we have discovered The Bayview, we certainly plan on returning anytime we get to Bar Harbor.

The Bayview has spectacular views. The staff at the Bayview made you feel extremely comfortable and went out of their way to make your stay a fantastic experience. All of the small extras made our stay very relaxing and enjoyable. All our expectations were exceeded at the Bayview in our 8 day stay.

We had six wonderful days here. My husband and I traveled with her daughter and son-in-law and two grand daughters. Initially we argued about where to stay in Bar Harbor. My husband and I wanted the luxury of a hotel and my daughter and son-in-law wanted to stay in a townhouse. We found a hotel with townhouses in the Bayview. They have a series of two and three bedroom townhouses. Because the hotel was solidly booked, we spent the first three nights in a two bedroom townhouse and the last three nights in a three bedroom townhouse. They are exactly alike except the third bedroom is actually a third-floor loft which has a King sized bed and two twins. The other bedrooms are on the first floor. Also on the first floor are two full baths. The master bedroom is large and has a fireplace and french doors that open unto a small terrace. The second floor has a nice kitchen, dining room and living room with another fireplace. The hotel is on the ocean and also has a small pool. There is a small bar. The hotel serves a delicious full breakfast each morning and you can eat in a lovely dining room or out on the terrace over looking the ocean. The staff is friendly and pleasant. If you need a ride into town, you only have to request it and one of there cars will drop you off. When you are ready to come back, just call. The place is spotless. The kitchen is well stocked. You will want for nothing. My only complaint is that the mattresses could be more comfortable. We complained about that and they put a board in the mattress for us.

The staff of the Bayview were very friendly and helpful in planing are stay at Bar Harbor. The continental breakfast was great and the service was very good. The afternoon cookies and coffee were always good. Close to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Our townhouse was big comfortable and clean.
