Yesterday I took a trip across the Tobin Bridge to Chelsea prompted by an earlier visit by my wife to larry j's place. We ordered the burnt ends and a side. The meat was beautifully cooked, and the sauce was a great complement to the flavor of the rub. The portion, which may have looked a bit small due to the size of the tray, was actually very generous, as was the mac and cheese side.
We got into a discussion on barbecue with Larry (who comes from CA, not normally what you'd think of as a "q" mecca), and found him very knowledgeable. After I identified myself as an NC transplant, Larry offered up a sample of his sauce for pulled pork. The sauce is an original take on the pepper-vinegar stuff I grew up with, and has a smoky back-taste which should really play well with the pig. I'll be back to try it.
