Just returned from a weeks ski-ing in the Ski-Welt area in Austria staying in the Cafe Schonblick above Ellmau village.
The Austrian twin room we shared was clean and spacious with magnificent views. We stayed on a half-board basis with breakfast being typical continental style and dinner a 3 or 4 course meal (usually with no choice of main course).
Food was generally very tasty.
We were led to believe that the Schonblick had a bar - well they served drinks at a counter but it wasn't somewhere you could socialise.
It was possible to ski to the Hartkaiser funicular in the morning and back to within 50 yards of the hotel at the end of the day which was a great plus for us.
The only real drawback was the steep 15 minute walk up to the hotel from the village centre after some apres-ski or shopping with a 6 euro taxi being the alternative.
Note that some ski hire shops in the village require a credit card or passport or driving licence to be held as insurance for the week against equipment theft.
