I was on a short trip to Anchorage and had a room on the 3rd floor, facing the mountains. The room was large and clean, and I immediately liked that there were many available outlets on the desk and night stand to charge my devices. The bed was comfortable, and I slept great. The real standout is the customer service at this hotel - it is outstanding! I've traveled a lot, to cities both larger and smaller than Anchorage, and the experience I had with the staff here was the best I've ever had. The front desk attendants always had genuine greetings and smiles, and were always happy to assist. To my surprise, the housekeeping staff was also just as friendly, as well as my waiter when I ate dinner at the hotel restaurant. I could tell that everyone truly loved their jobs. Speaking of the restaurant, I was feeling tired and decided to have dinner at the hotel one night. I am glad I made that decision - the waiter was perfectly attentive; always making sure I had what I needed, made suggestions, and was very congenial. I tried their "famous chili" and it was amazing! I should have gotten a bowl of that, instead of a cup. I want some now, just thinking about it. I also had the Fresh Catch BLT, which was also great. It's hard to find a good fish sandwich, and I will be returning for this one. I was very pleasantly surprised at the high quality of food at this little hotel. If I were to give some constructive criticism, it would be that the rooms could use better soundproofing, but it's not too bad. Also, I had breakfast there one morning, which was good, except for the fact than when the waitress forgot my toast, and I asked her for it, it took her a while to remember to bring it to me. When she did, she apologized for forgetting, but it was cold and hard. I would have rather waited 2 more minutes for warm toast. Those things were totally forgotten when I discovered their shuttle service. Their shuttle service will drop you off and pick you up from a number of locations around town. The drivers were all great (remember to tip them!), and since I didn't have a car, I really appreciated this service. Overall, the staff at hotel really made me feel like I was part of their family, which as a frequent traveler, is something I can't say I've felt very often. Highly recommend!
