Stayed here for one night with husband and two teens while we were visiting colleges. Since this hotel is the upper floors of a dorm, it could not be better located for visiting Brown. We had two rooms, each with 2 beds. The hotel booked us into a suite configuration where we also had a central living room accessible from each bedroom, but not to the public.
Rooms were large and clean. Minimal amenities (e.g. shampoo, soap) provided. Internet access was free through the Brown network. A bit slow, but ok.
We weren't told about the continental breakfast mentioned in the review above so I'm not sure if they are still having it. A list of places to have breakfast was included in the room.
Our stay was overall positive but there were a couple of negatives: the front desk check-in person was not the most helpful. We had arrived with just a few minutes to a tour we wanted to make. We asked whether we could get a campus map so we would know where to go, then check in later. She refused to give us the map until we fully checked in! Then she took her while to check us in, then to record and issue a parking pass. When I asked about internet access she said - oh - signing you up - that will take awhile! We left and went on the tour. When I reported back to the desk after, with another front desk person, internet access setup took 2 minutes at most.
The other negative was that one of our two rooms smelled funny - sort of the smell of a burning electrical component. We linked it to a smokestack on the building next store. It stopped at night and the smell cleared out, but then started up in the AM and it returned. Our sons' room, on the other side of the building, did not smell at all.
