We booked this almost at the last minute, so had to switch from suite A to suite B half-way through the four-night stay and got to try them both. They're almost identical, but suite A probably has the edge for balcony-sitting. They're both luxuriously appointed double-height self-catering suites with giant beds, comfy couches, fully equipped kitchen, bathrooms and laundry facilities, and an ever-changing view from the massive windows over the Sitka harbour.
We'd been travelling for over 2 weeks by the time we arrived so being able to cook for ourselves was such a relief that we didn't even go to the famous Ludwig's bistro, which is right next door. We could kick off our shoes, relax, and get some laundry done before the next leg of our journey, and it was a great base for seeing the sights of Sitka, hiking, kayaking, wildlife watching - all the things people come to southeast Alaska for. Dan and family have done a great job.
