Just back from a fabulous 5 day stay. We rented a car in MoBay and drove ourselves to Treasure Beach (it took about 2.5 hours) -- our room overlooked the pool wwhich overlooked the Sea. The room was spotless and nicely furnished. The hotel is quiet but incredibly relaxing - breakfast is delicious and there is opportunity to walk to other bars/restaurants/shops. There is no real beach in front of the hotel but you can walk a short distance to one. We took a day tour with Joseph to a deserted beach where they fixed lunch for us, we played crcket and snorkled and just had a blast! We enjoyed dinner at the hotel and met some very nice people there -- our next favorite dining spot was Frechman's Reef. I am a picky traveler and highly recommend Marble - Andrea is fabulous!!

After searching high and low for an out of the way and quiet place to stay in Jamaica, my friend and I found it at Marblue. Andrea and Axil were the ideal hosts.  Marblue is situated on Treasure Beach, which is the perfect  location for anyone who wants to experience the "real" Jamaica.  Whether its boating up the Black River or jumping off rocks into the waterfalls at YS Falls, Marblue is uniquely situated to take advantage of the natural wonders of Jamaica.  Andrea and Axil along with their friends and staff made my friend and I immediately feel welcome and at home. Brian, Westin, Claudette and all the staff were wonderful and gracious. My friend and I both travel extensively for business and leisure and we cannot praise Marblue enough. It is a beautiful property with two pools and attractive open air dining. I can't wait to come back in June when the Mangoes are ripe and falling off the trees.

Mar Blue is a tiny hotel, about 8 rooms, located in this very quiet area of Jamaica. Treasure Beach is for those who want to see Jamaica not all-inclusive could be anywhere tourist-ville. Mar Blue is run by a sweet German couple, and the rooms are very pleasant. It has a two small pools and a very pretty restaurant. It is on the coast, but it opens onto craggy shoreline not sand. There are two little bays on either side of it, but not particularly good ones. There were a few little niggles with our stay - the fridge didn't work, hot water kept tripping out, and bizarrely nowhere to hang your towels up. It seems to attract quiet (German?) couples, so isn't really for people who want to sit up late drinking and chatting. But if you're looking for a cool and tranquil bolt-hole then this could be perfect for you.

We stayed at the Marblue because of flight delays at the end of a wonderful trip to Jakes. The room was simple and basic, the best part was the veranda that had a beautiful view of the ocean. My problem with the place was the fact that it was deserted and we felt very uncomfortable the entire time. The owners, who have been there for 6 years, are cold and unfriendly. The staff try to make things better, but the atmosphere is oppressive. The food is said to be excellent, but I did not want to eat in an empty dining room. There must be a reason the place was empty at the height of the high season. I did not have fun there and much prefer Jakes. There, you can find people to talk to. The Marblue does not allow locals on the property and they are the heart and soul of the area. Go to the Marblue if you want a to feel isolated and unwelcome, go to Jakes if you want a great vacation.
