Aid and recovery efforts continue after an 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of central Chile on February 27. Power and water have been restored in the capital of Santiago, and the city's international airport is now open. The hardest hit area in and around Concepción faces power outages, extensive infrastructure damage and security concerns. Many towns along Chile's coast suffered heavy damage from the tsunami that followed the quake.
