Two world class restaurants in Lower Town Quebec city are Panache and L' Initiale.

Initiale's owner and renowned chef, Yvan Lebrun is deservingly honored by Relais & Châteaux (Relais & Châteaux is an association of the world finest hotels and restaurants) as one of only 154 elite "Relais Gourmand" chefs and restaurants around the globe. You can dine a la carte or from a choice of Gastranomie menus.

Panache is housed in the hotel Auberge Saint Antoine, a Relais et Châteaux  hotel.  It has won an award in 2005 for being one the best restaurants of the chain. During the week you can eat from the extremely reasonably priced lunch menu ($20 for 3 courses), or splurge on dinner in unstuffy rustic setting.

The Laurie Raphael, in Lower Town near the Old Port, and Saint-Amour in Upper Town inside the walls, are 2 other very good restaurants with exquisite fine cuisine, quite popular among couples willing to celebrate a special occasion.
