It's the second time we've stayed at Acorn Cottage this year, it is in a fabulous location, but not far away from civilization. The cottage is clean and well equipped. If you're lucky you'll see the red squirrels at the back. -) more

Management response:

It was good to have you back - Hope you liked the new sofas. Look out for my lovely new 'Herdwick' carpets arriving soon - I get so excited!! more

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

This cottage has all the things you may need for your holiday and then some. The row of cottages are isolated about 1/2 mile up a single lane track from the 'main road' and about 2 miles from Coniston. It has the problems you may expect for a remote location, slow wifi, no street lights, low water pressure. Do not...

Management response:

We are delighted you enjoyed the setting of our cottage. 1/2 a mile from main road in the Lake District and yet we've utter peace. Result I'd say!! Sorry you found the wifi slow but I can assure you it's faster than mine in Kendal! more

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2015 for a stay in April 2015

This is a belated review for our stay in April, when we had a couple of nights at this lovely terraced cottage. Our stay was enhanced by some freaky hot weather while we were there. Nevertheless, we had a perfect time, largely down to the wonderful setting of Acorn Cottage. The accommodation was very nice, with every comfort you'd need.... more

Management response:

Really glad you enjoyed yourselves and want to come back! Also really glad you found the location as described....peaceful yet central to everything. As you've found out there's lots to come back to see and do!! more
