Gorgeous converted barn set in the tranquil rolling hills around Cordes. The barn was built in the early 19th century and has been part of a working farm and vineyard until recently - the wine vats are still in place in the cellar! The house is surrounded by paths and trails for walking and the nearest wine cave is only 15 minutes walk across the valley for local produce. Hilltop villages are all around with Cordes, Castelneau and Puycelci only 10 minutes by car and Vaour has a world famous music festival during August.

Spent two weeks here, two adults and two young adults. The location on the edge of the village is very private (almost secluded) with a beautiful vista. The property is very spacious so everyone can find a peaceful spot. Comfortable too. It is also very well equipped: all you need in the kitchen and board games in the (enourmous) sitting room. The pool is bigger than it looks in the picture and a real sun-trap. There is a beautiful 6.5km circuit through woodland and vineyard right from the front door: great for trail runners. If you like playing Carcassonne then pack a couple of extensions.
My only suggestion for improvement is that, with Climate Change doing what it is doing, a couple of fans would be welcome.

Best ever accommodation, food, scenic views and to top it all the hospitality of our hosts Colin and Janet!!
The location is great, quiet with beautiful views and a lovely swimming pool. The barn conversion was amazing with pretty bedrooms and large bathrooms. The meals were better than we could have hoped for, a fresh breakfast, picnics/hot lunches and finally a four course evening meal (restaurant standard!). Last but certainly not least was the lovely welcome and hospitality we received from Colin and Janet. Oh...and we did some walking through the beautiful countryside too, led by our hosts. Would whole-heartedly recommend to all!!

A week of escape in the beautiful coutryside of south west france.
Fine accommodation with panoramic views over vineyards of the Gaillac region.
The walks during the day are well structured through beautiful countryside and vineyards and encompassed trips to local places of interest including medieval Castelnau de Montmiral and Cordes de Cieul. The visit to the local vineyard Manoir de l'emmeille was particularly memorable for the hospitality received.
The all inclusive week featured superb 4 course meals in the evening, demonstrating the variety of locally sourced food, wines, and the culinary expertise of the owners.
A most memorable and enjoyable week.

Walking holiday at La Terrace, Itzac,
This holiday took place in a beautiful part of France. The hosts Colin and Janet Shand ensured that we enjoyed the week. They provided all our meals, including picnics when we went walking. The 4 course meals each night were delicious 😋 All drinks were provided including beers and local wines.
The walks were graded. We chose the medium walks which Janet and Colin led. We saw some lovely villages and towns in the region.
The accommodation was a beautifully restored barn, with 4 double bedrooms, lovely lounge and great kitchen. If the weather was good we would relax by the swimming pool and then eat out on the terrace enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Super relaxing Spacious Gite!
Just spent a very chilled out week at Janet & Colin's gorgeous Gite. They are the loveliest people you could ever meet. They allowed us to take our dog & she spent the whole week playing with their utterly gorgeous spaniel -Jock. Janet & Colin usually run the Gite as all inclusive walking/adventure hols, but during the hot summer months they rent it out as just a private Gite. If your ideal holiday is total relaxation in a beautiful part of southern France, then I highly recommend hiring this Gite. Our daughter spent most of her time in their fabulous pool, for kids, as it's the same depth throughout, so no worries of them venturing to the deep end! The region is very beautiful, particularly Cordes Sur Ciel & Albi, definitely worth a visit. Manoir de L'Emmeille one of the many vinyards nearby the Gite, is also worth a visit too, if you like white wine the Gaillac region know how to make the best! Thank you for a wonderful relaxing week, it's just what we needed!

Best holiday
One of the best times my husband and I have had. Accomodation is excellent , countryside and surrounding towns are beautiful and Colin and Janet are two of the best , friendly people you could meet, was sad to leave. The walks are really enjoyable , and both Colin and Janet are excellent guides, and as I mentioned earlier, the gite is really well appointed, with everything you need. Can't recommend high enough

A fantastic, memorable, special holiday!
The gite is situated in a rural area with fantastic views. We opted to do the walking holiday option from the gite. The gite was very well equipped, clean and with a beautiful swimming pool. Colin and Janet made us extremely welcome, nothing was too much trouble and they went the extra mile on everything. The walking each day was beautiful, tailored to our needs with amazing picnics at lunchtime. The walking holiday included all meals. The evening meals were served on the terrace overlooking spectacular views. Each meal was four courses and the standard of cooking was excellent. If you are looking for a memorable, special holiday, this is the one!
