Hasd a great months holiday, Sandra and Dennis very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was clean and had everything you needed for a long stay. It was good to recieve a welcome pack on arrival. We all pleased to have a good internet, english tv and a regular swim.Located near a village, with enjoyable walks around the lake and surrounding countryside. The hosts were helpful in telling us what entertainment was on, recommending were to eat locally.

Fisherman & bikers paradise
Had a great week. Sandra & Dennis were very welcoming, helpful, with great knowledge of things to see & do. Cottage very clean & fresh, beautiful location. Perfect for fresh water fishermen, with lake just across the road. Also perfect for bikers, so many routes with beautiful scenery.

Great place
This wonderfull home is fully decorated and has everything you need. Beautiful garden, nice pool and good sunchairs with shade. Inside is a large livingroom, great couches, good wifi and BBC on tv. Nice double bed, but single beds need new matrasses. Nice central location and very friendly owners.

A magical garden
We visited this charming gete during the half term holidays in October for a short stay. On arrival the owners showed us around the gardens and we were amazed when two deer went running past while we were picking walnuts and apples, it was a magical start to a very good short break. The gete was very comfortable and warm even though the weather was cold on some of the days. The gete was much bigger than expected from the pictures online and in the style of a chalet. Having fresh bread delivered every morning was brilliant and there are some really nice walks passing by the chateau. We visited lots of small market towns and enjoyed some nice walks along the dordogne river which was close by.
We would definately visit again because the owners were very friendly and we enjoyed seeing all of the wildlife.

How to get there
Calais is 800 km away I would advice getting through Paris periferic before 11am as can be very busy
alternatively go via Rouen and follow the 13 towards Le Mans then cut across to the 20 down to Belves for the 89
then cross to Bergerac where you can follow the signs towards Sarlat then just before you get to Lalinde turn Right to Couze
cross the bridge noticing more shops and restaurants then follow sign right for Lanquais go up the hill and follow road continue
till you pass the church near the village Restaurant , and Post office continue following signs for the Chateau Lanquais
just before the Turn to the LAKE/Chateau on the Left you will find our lovely cottage
Bergerac airport has lots of uk direct flights and hire cars can be arranged via the Airport web site and collected at the airport
direct flights from London Gatwick,Stanstead,Southampton,Leeds Bradford,Liverpool,Birmingham,East midlands
if arriving at the Airport exit the airport and turn left then the next left towards St Nexans
follow road past the vines and the village fab view then at the end of this road turn right follow this road to St Aubin de Lanquais
here you will pass straight through the smallest traffic light junction and follow road to Faux
here you turn left then follow the road to Lanquais
you will pass the pony trekking on the right then down the hill you will turn a sharp right hand bend with fab view of lake and chateau pass the lake and at the end you will see our lovely cottage on the right opposite the turn for the chateau
