I have been flying Alaska Airlines for over 20 years now. I usually travel ever 3 to 6 months to the lower 48. In all of this time I have only had 2 problems. The first was some luggage that was not on the plane. They rectified that by delivering my luggage when it showed up. The second problem was...

...how you respond to the situation is what matters. Alaska Air apologized for the several hour delay in person and by email with a discount code. It was frustrating to be delayed for a weekend excursion but at least they didn't ignore the fact!

The last few years we've broken up the long flight by staying overnight on the west coast. Since Alaska Air flights usually seem to be a bit less expensive, the difference covers the cost of the motel/hotel. If there is less than 12 hrs between when your flight arrives and your scheduled takeoff, as of now, your check through bags...

They do charge for luggage other than a carry on, cheaper to go first class then to pay luggage fee. Always on time, easy luggage pick up, super nice and friendly flights!

On a recent trip from Denver to the Big Island we had a lay over in Seattle, due to some freezing rain our flight got delayed (which is so understandable) however after having our gate changed three times and having to take the tram to get to the new gates only to end up back at the first gate we...

We fly Alaska 3-4 times a years. They used to be our favorite. Just always felt better about flying with them. Now they're the same as the rest. Used to have hot food to and from Mexico, not anymore. Used to let you have a full can of soda, not anymore. Used to make passenger check over sized bags, skate...

Booked the wife and I for a month in Kona to celebrate our 30th anniversary. I found that I could book us 1st class tickets with Alaska for about 40% more per ticket than coach on any other airline. Big plus! And non-stop service from San Diego to Kona, another big plus. One of my favorite US carriers to fly...

Portland, OR had a record snowfall the night I flew in, and the snow stayed on the ground until after I flew home. Both flights were on time and just great.

If you are a business traveler with MVP, GOLD or 75K status, you no longer have the privilege of choosing to sit toward the front of the plane to get out quickly and on with your business day without an EXTRA charge. You will however get an "Upgrade" from past row 16 to somewhere in row 6-15 IF there is...

As the name implies, it's a major carrier in the state of Alaska, flying to about 20 large and small destinations throughout the state.
