From its bases at Guernsey Airport (GCI) and Jersey Airport (JER) it flies between the Channel Islands and destinations in the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Blue Islands Air also has a codeshare agreement with CityJet (WX). The airline's fleet consists of five ATR 42-320, ATR 42-500 and ATR 72-500 planes. Like several recent reviewers we were caught out by the airlines abysmal lack of customer care and assistance (0) when our flight was cancelled. We were on board when they decided the weather was too bad to take off. We were dumped back at the airport with no help to arrange a taxi and accommodation on a Sunday evening. We were booked to flight out the next night but no compensation, hotel costs etc and that flight was 2 hours delayed.…

This is my feed back to Blue Islands. I am disgusted with the customer care and attitude of Blue Islands. Our flight was cancelled while we were waiting for a gate number. We were left with a brief text and email asking us to rebook and that was it. No personal assistance no follow -up and a message on your website stating if you fly from the channel islands then you are not entitled to compensation. So the extra costs incurred by us because of your incompetance does not seem to matter to you. Infact your whole attitude as a company seems to be " We have the monopoly, we are not responsible for poor performance and we dont care".…

My elderly parent, 81 & 82, booked a package holiday trough Wlfreda Beehive to Jersey for their diamond wedding anniversary, knowing it would be their last holiday together due to dad having dementia. The flight out was delayed due to bad weather for 3 hours which is unavoidable, however their return flight was cancelled an hour before the were due to fly home. They were told that there was an issue with staff having walked out. They were told that they wouldn't be able to fly home until the following day and that they would have to fly to Birmingham not East Mids where they had flown This flight was due to leave at 18:00 some 28 hours later. As you can imagine this would be stressful for anyone , imagine being 82 with dementia and not knowing whether you were ever getting home. Wilfreda Beehive were brilliant, they sorted them a hotel but they still incurred extra costs which they'll have to claim through the insurance, however when I contacted Blue Islands customer service the response was Claire (Blue Islands) 21 Sept 2024, 11:09 BST Good Morning, Thank you for your email. May we begin by offering our sincerest apologies for the cancellation of the SI5554 service between Jersey and East Midlands on . We would also like to apologize for all the inconvenience and upset this stressful event has caused you. On review of your claim for compensation under UK regulation 261/2004, it was determined that as you were departing the Channel Islands and as Blue Islands is a Channel Islands based, non-UK/Community carrier, statutory compensation under UK regulation 261 / 2004 would not be applicable on this occasion. Blue Islands position in relation to UK legislation is outlined to all passengers at the time of booking, under article 9 of our terms and conditions of carriage. Regrettably, cancellations and/or delays remain an inherent aspect of the aviation industry for many reasons. It is for these reasons that Blue Islands advise all passengers to travel with adequate travel insurance to protect their journey. We would also advise contacting your travel insurance provider, should you wish to make a claim for any additional costs/losses incurred such as hotel and taxi fare. Upon request, our team can provide written confirmation of the circumstances surrounding the flight delay, should this be required to process any claim. Beware of flying with this airline as it does not offer any assistance or compensation for delayed or cancelled flights, other than to rebook you on the next available flight. On July 22nd we were due to fly back to Southampton (SOU) from Guernsey. The weather deteriorated to the extent that only a few flights landed or departed. Guernsey has ILS Cat 1 so older aircraft are unable to land in poor visibility. This is what happened to out inbound flight, meaning that our flight was cancelled, though all we were told in an email was... "We are sorry to inform you that your 18:20 flight from Guernsey to Southampton (SI3342) is cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, and we would like to apologise for the inconvenience this will cause." There was no other announcement or any offer of refreshments or information, just rumors and no staff from the airline visible anywhere. On leaving the airport we asked a solitary member of the ground staff, who was clearly uncomfortable, about accommodation, it was past 8pm, raining and we had no hotel close by. We were told to book into a hotel and send the invoices to the airline, no other assistance was offered, nor was it possible to contact Blue Island by phone or email. We booked a hotel on line, paid for a taxi into Guernsey, had dinner and slept. In the morning, we took a taxi back to the airport and boarded a chartered ATR for the return to Southampton. Blue Islands comments when we tried to claim back our out of pocket costs were as follows... "On review of your claim for compensation, it was determined that as you were departing the Channel Islands and as Blue Islands is a Channel Islands based, non-UK/Community carrier, compensation under UK regulation would not be applicable on this occasion." We had travel insurance however it's unacceptable for an airline to use a loophole to get out of offering any assistance to stranded passengers. Needless to say if we ever return, it will not be on a Blue Island flight.…

DREADFUL!! How this airline are still operating, is beyond belief. Cancelled flight (after 7 hours wait in airport, kicked out onto street and told to 'come.back tomorrow ' paid for transport and hotel, returned next day and got a 10am flight... Which was delayed until 3pm! No info, no assistance, no support and no help with cost. Disgusting company!…
