We have flown on Spirit Air many, many times. I have become an unofficial Spirit Air ambassador. Their fares can't be beat! You just need to know that this is a deeply discounted airline. You pay for everything -- carryons, checked bags, seats in advance, etc. If you know this in advance and pack accordingly, you can enjoy cheap air...

This was my first trip on Spirit Airlines. It's a 'Bare Fare' carrier and I was flying out of one of the busiest airports in the country, from which, I travel somewhat frequently. I troll the Spirit Airlines site a lot, and even joined their $9 Fare Club (some fares can be as low as $9.00 for members). Starting with...

This was my first time flying Spirit Airlines and you get exactly what you pay for. For 2 round trip tickets, I think my wife and I paid less then $200. However, we paid a great deal in baggage fees!! Add in what we paid in baggage fees and we probably could have gotten 2 round trip tickets on a...

I did not expect much for the price but holly crap!!!!!!!!!!! They even charged for water!!!!!!!! The planes are old, almost no padding, the seats are much closer then in other planes. All the drinks are warm and they even look at you and ask "do you want ice?"

Initial flight cost was amazingly inexpensive, but by the time I paid for a carry-on and choosing my seat for both legs of my trip, the price was more than three of the major airlines - where I would have earned a few miles for a future trip. Flight was delayed 2 hours, with no explanation given, from Minneapolis to...

Hint, if you are traveling with more than one person, the weight of the bags checked in was cumulative and not separate. We had one bag over and one bag under and together they were under so we did not have to shift contents. Get the 9 dollar club specials. We saved money on four travelers by joining and it...

The ticket counter is not the easiest to find in SEATAC airport. I get that you're a discount airline, but have a clear description of where the counter is located in the airport. Once I received my boarding passes, the TSA PreCheck was not on them. I was informed that Spirit doesn't have access to whatever system they need to...

Unbelievable.....if you are going to sell through a 3rd party vendor you need to have them give us all the upcharges! If your carry on has wheels it's $54, or you can check it for $52. We had three carry on's with wheels and we paid $159 extra! Pop or water was $7 and liquor was $14. Truly not a...

Flew my first spirit flight ever and as a British person I was expecting the level of budget we get from Ryanair etc. First a lovely man named Vincenzo at Tampa airport helped sort me out at check in and was excellent. Then we had lovely, friendly and funny air hostesses on our flight. Was a pleasure to travel with...
