Located 10 miles northwest of downtown, the Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is one of the busiest airports in California when measured by the number of passengers annually. In 2014, nearly 9 million travelers passed through the airport, which has two runways and two terminals with a total of 32 gates. Aeroméxico, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines and United Airlines are among the carriers that operate at the airport. Passengers can fly non-stop to about 30 destinations in the United States and Mexico. Airport amenities include restaurants, cafes and bars; retail stores; a massage service and shoeshine; ATMs; free WIFI internet; and a free cell phone waiting lot for drivers who are picking up passengers.
