The fifth-busiest airport in the United States, Denver International Airport (DEN) handled about 54.5 million passengers in 2014. The airport – which is a hub for Frontier Airlines, Great Lakes Airlines and United Airlines, as well as a focus city for Southwest Airlines – is located 25 miles from downtown. It has six runways and one passenger terminal with three midfield concourses and a total of 142 gates. More than 15 airlines operate at the airport, flying between DEN and more than 170 destinations, including 20 international destinations in nine countries, including Canada, Mexico, England, Germany, Japan and Iceland. Airport amenities at Denver International Airport include a free cell phone waiting lot, sit-down and fast-food restaurants, retail stores, art exhibits, free WIFI internet, electronics and electric vehicle charging stations, ATMs, currency exchanges and an interfaith chapel.
