The second-busiest airport in Australia, Melbourne Airport (MEL) served about 31.1 million passengers in 2012-13. Also known as Tullamarine Airport, the airport is located about 14 miles from downtown. In total, more than 30 commercial carriers fly to MEL, including Jetstar Airways, Qantas, Regional Express Airlines, Tigerair Australia and Virgin Australia, which all use the airport as a hub. Melbourne Airport has two runways and four passenger terminals with a combined total of 56 gates.
