- GrandTour5467620 contributionsSushi making experienceHaru and Kate were amazing hosts. Haru did great as the MC for our class and Kate did a. Amazing job teaching us how to form and make the sushi from beginning to end. If you’re in Tokyo and do the fish market tour I recommend you end with this sushi making class!Written September 6, 2024

- kaileymaples0 contributionsE-bike tour in Tokyo !!This tour was absolutely fabulous!! Hiro-san was such a wonderful guide , very attentive and informative. The gardens was beautiful and peaceful, the temple was such a unique experience with thousands of miniature wood statues in Crystal cases. The bikes are very fast and easy to ride, brand new and electric. They are comfortable and so much fun!! Would love to do this tour again!!Written September 6, 2024
- echasseriauc0 contributionsI see Asakusa differentlyI learned so much about Asakusa’s rich history! The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of our questions. The experience was engaging and well-paced. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Tokyo!Written September 6, 2024
- pocketgirl860 contributionsVery nice tour of Asakusa's highlightsIt was very interesting to learn more about Asakusa and Sensoji temple with our guide (who could speak both English and French). We took our time to walk in the tradional area of Tokyo. I just regret that the rickshaw ride was a bit short (20mn felt like 10mn), I think 30mn is best! :) Would recommend!Written September 6, 2024
- Angela H0 contributionsExcellentIt was a wonderful and unforgettable 3 hour tour with vivid impressions of the rickshaw ride, a visit of Asakusa, Nakamise shopping street and a Sensoji Temple. The rickshaw driver was very polite, an educated young man who told us about the history of nearby establishments. He also took some great pictures with the background of Tokyo Sky Tree. The tour guide was very experienced, polite and friendly. She told us a lot of interesting information about the history of Edo and Sensoji Temple, treated us to the most delicious Ninyoyaki ( traditional Japanese sweets with the sweet beans paste) in Asakusa and took a lot of beautiful pictures of us in all the different places of Asakusa. I definitely recommend this tour which is unforgettable immersion into japanese traditional culture and history of Japan.Written September 6, 2024
- huppa20130 contributionsPower cycling from Tsukiji to the Fukagawa fire temple. This bike tour is a hit, even for me after five years in Tokyo. It's a novelty. The program includes a good combination of sites (monuments, parks, shrines), and there is even a rest for a traditional snack around lunchtime. Moreover, from Central Station onward, it covers an area that is not usually frequented by mass tourism in Tokyo. What I realized is that with an electric bike and good guides who know the tricky intersections, you can quickly cover a part of Tokyo in just a few hours. Mixing footpaths, bike lanes, and pedestrian crossings, which would take an entire day for a tourist using the subway or walking. The breeze you get is also a powerful sensation when you cycle past your fellow tourists walking under the sun and tormented by the Tokyo summer heat.Written September 6, 2024

- 304manasvip0 contributionsThis rickshaw ride is very well recommended especially with Yoko san as your guide!I have been living in Japan for almost 3 years now and have visited Asakusa many times but never paid attention to the details and importance of each element. In this tour, our guide Yoko San, explained everything very well and made the experience enjoyable. The rickshaw experience was wonderful and took me back 100s of years to olden days of Japan.Written September 5, 2024
- deniselH6751AE0 contributionsEverything you’d want!Kanako was a sweet guide, answering our many questions on Japanese cuisine and customs. Food samples were delicious and a highlight of everything you would want to try at the market. We also had a great group with global representation, which we got lucky with. Appreciated the intimate size as well (1 guide to 5 visitors)Written September 5, 2024
- 971priyankad0 contributionsFulfilling experienceIf you really wanna experience the japanese way of hospitality and care while having knowledge enhacing conversation about Japanese culture, traditions and history, this is the best experience to go for. Our guide Yoko is such a wonderful person and she ensured end to end handling of the tour with so much love and ease. Her passion for her work is admirable and happiness of the tourist stood the most important for her. From local food, souvenirs to street fashion, she could guide us with detailed info on every topic. And also helped us in finding the best vegan ramen place. Would highly recommend this tour to all the tourist who are visiting Asakusa. Because this experience will definitely enrich your expertise on Japan.Written September 4, 2024

Keiko san was our guide and she was great company and a storyteller, showing us all the famous places in Asakusa such as the Senso-ji Temple, Nakamise dori shopping district, Hanayashiki Amusement Park etc.and also telling some of Asakusa's history. We enjoyed the rickshaw ride as well and went to a halal ramen restaurant after the tour.Overall, I think it was great introduction to the city. They gave us a cute post-card as a gift as well.Written September 4, 2024

This is an amazing tour! It covered much more than even its description. Yuriko is a fantastic tour guide! We sampled many tasty foods at the fish market. She took great care to make sure her guests had a wonderful and very thorough experience. From sushi lunch at a restaurant in Tsukiji to navigating the subway to Asakusa to walk through the temple and finally finishing with a sweet treat. Not to be missed!!

Today I toured with Tomo-san who was absolutely wonderful and so knowledgeable in everything we did. Group size was perfect and the planned activities were really great. I’d definitely recommend to anyone who would enjoy a more structured day at the Fish Market.

This was a great experience! Our tour guide, Sam, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He explained how to pray at the Shinto and Buddhist shrines and temples and had a ton of interesting facts.
We got to watch tamago being made, tried grilled skewered meat and sake, and fresh strawberries. Everything was delicious! He also took us the Asakusa and showed us a view of the SkyTree and the Asahi Golden Flame (or "Golden Poop" as some call it!) He explained how to use the Japanese subway system, which I admit was confusing to me, but afterward I was able to take a trip to Akihabara on my own.
There was a lot of walking in the tour, but Sam was patient and accommodating, helping us find elevators when they were available. I'd recommend this trip to anyone visiting Japan!

Akiko is a sweet, amazing tour guide and this was a perfect introduction to the city. We had a thorough tour with tons of food - so much that we were full by the time we reached Asakusa! We had a small group for the fish market and then had Akiko all to ourselves for the Asakusa portion. As it was our first day in Tokyo, it was great to have Akiko show us the subway system. We visited four shrines/temples and she showed us many snacks and samples on Nakamisedori, on the way to Sensoji Temple. Highly recommended!

Our guide, Tak, was friendly, very helpful and informative. It made for a pleasant time for our kids who were first time in Japan. We were joined by another family on the tour. 8pax in total.
Been many years since my own sightseeing trip and have to say that the Asakusa street market was better in the day - more handicraft and authentic Japanese snacks, vs more tourist traps today. Tsukiji market w is always so interesting for both fresh seafood and dried goods. Architecture in Tokyo always nice and interesting.
Snacks along the way a good way to introduce first timers to tamago/egg roll, satsumage/fish cake, sushi, sashimi etc - we were all properly stuffed, do not eat breakfast on the day and don’t make plans for lunch! All taken care of. 👍😊

PROS:
1) Asaka was a wonderful guide. She was very knowledgeable about the culture, the food, and the history and we learned a lot on the tour. She was super nice and fun to talk to. She knew all the good places for food and shopping and gave recommendations according to our preferences. She did everything right and we would go on a tour with her again.
2) The sake tasting. They were expecting us and the sake was good.
3) The highlight was the tuna cutting demo. We learned about the different types of tuna.
CONS:
1) However, I don’t like the way the company has set up the tour. I have been to several food tours all over the world and this one was not what I expected. We felt bad for going to all the food stalls and taking their free samples with no intention of buying anything. That shouldn’t constitute a food tour. They were mostly mom and pop shops and were not getting anything out of us taking their samples. Usually, in other food tours, you go to different places and they would have samples prepared just for us, because the food tour company and had an agreement with them. It didn’t appear to be the case here.
2) One of the biggest disappointments was that we did not get lunch at the restaurant that was the first choice. We got there as scheduled, but there was a line of people and we didn’t have time to wait and there were not a previous arrangement with the restaurant for the food tour, so we ended up eating at a common chain of sushi restaurants. While I understand that the place was popular and it was probably small and we could not reserve spots, I have not experienced this before on a tour. I could have gotten the second choice sushi chain on my own. The sushi was fine, but definitely nothing special. We eat a lot of sushi and live in a Japanese community in our city and this was not particularly good. I don’t need a food tour to take me to an average chain.
If you have taken a lot of other food tours in other places, you might have encountered food arrangements made ahead of time for your tour. That’s what I was expecting here. It’s not a bad food tour, but it’s not what I was expecting. This review is to let people know what to expect and to make a decision accordingly.

Thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback on your tour.
We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed your time with Asaka and that her knowledge and recommendations added so much to your experience. We’re also glad that you appreciated the sake tasting and the tuna cutting demo, which are highlights we love to share with our guests.
However, we are sincerely sorry that certain aspects of the tour did not meet your expectations. We understand your concerns about the way the food tour was organized, particularly with regards to the samples at the food stalls. Based on your feedback, we have reviewed and changed where we visit and what experience we provide. While in the Covid pandemic, the market and shops changed.
We will do our best to improve our tours continuously. Thank you very much for your feedback.

We enjoyed a fantastic half day tour of Tsukiji outer market and Asakusa with our lovely guide Yuriko. We sampled so many delicous items as we explored Tsukiji, and enjoyed a superb sushi lunch, which was made very easy for us to understand and enjoy with Yuriko's guidance on Japanese restaurant etiquette and chopstick techniques! The dessert in Askakusa of melonpan filled with icecream was also a real highlight for us.
Yuriko's knowledge of each area we explored was great, she was an extremely informative guide and very patient with many questions and requests from the tour group.
I would highly recommend this tour as a wonderful way to explore part of Tokyo and enjoy wonderful food as you go!
