On this tour you'll explore the Mersey River (one of the most beautiful places in the park to paddle, in my opinion).

The Best Way to Experience Keji!
This was my second time renting from Cody and his staff at Whynot and we have only fantastic things to say. They are extremely helpful in not only getting you setup with what you need, but also responsive by email about any questions you might have. Myself and three friends traveled nearly 20 km to our site, but we felt more than prepared thanks to the Whynot team. This is my second time renting through Whynot and I'll certainly be back again!

Perfect kayak rental service in Nova Scotia!
The staff was so knowledgeable and friendly! We had an amazing adventure kayaking around lake kejimukujik. It was very peaceful and quiet.

      Amazing staff
Whynot staff was so accommodating about all our itinerary changes and helped us make sure our trip went smoothly. We spent two nights in the backwoods with young children and had a magical time.

A must for any visit to NS
Lovely location, super helpful staff and we had the whole lake to ourselves.... Got to the rental location just before 9, had already booked the night before, lady was super efficient in getting us on the water and on to the lake. Honestly, we were the only people there on the lake, so peaceful and calm and managed to see turtles sunbathing on the rocks. 2 hours later when we got back, although not super busy there were a few large groups making a fair bit of noise around the place so advice would be ... get up out of your beds and get out there early

Family bike riding for the win
The staff was super helpful and friendly. We rented bikes to ride on the trails and had an amazing time! All the equipment was in great shape and their suggested route was perfect for the time we had.

      First Backcountry Portaging Trip!!!
It was my first backcountry portaging trip and it sure was memorable. I loved being on the lakes and travelling from water body to water body. We saw turtles, deer, loons, ducks, and muskrats. We were constantly surrounded by the songs of birds. Thanks to Whynot Adventures for providing the vessel for our travels and for getting us to our starting point safely. Cody and Karlene are great to do business with.

Group canoe trip - 3 backcountry nights
Excellent self-guided trip with a group of 10 friends. Started at Big Dam lake and paddled to Channel lake on day one. Day two paddled from Channel lake to Peskowesk lake (with a major tail wind on Keji lake that would've been awful if we were paddling into it). Did the silver lakes loop on day three, and paddled to Jakes landing on day 4. Good paddling distances each day, very lucky with the weather and bugs, and had a great time in nature with friends and doggos! Thank you to Why Not Adventures for canoe and barrel rentals, and for the guidance and emails before our trip!

Always fun to be on the lake and easy to hire the canoes
We been going here for a paddle on the lake for 10 years. Always a simple task to hire the equipment and enjoyable to paddle out have lunch on an island or up the river, then paddle back!

      Great service and staff
Cody and Karlene run a top-notch operation, and we’ve gone back year after year to rent canoes from them. A MUST if you’re visiting Keji!

A great experience in the wilderness of NS. Highly recommended, even for beginners with a spirit of adventure.
A great wilderness and paddling adventure in Keji NP. Despite rain, wind and thunderstorms, we had wonderful days and experiences. The campsites were very nice, the food excellent and the guide top-notch. In the evenings around the campfire we heard a lot about the wilderness and exciting stories about the First Nation. Thanks to the excellent preparation by Whynot Adventure, our stay was an unforgettable experience.

      Wholesome first time kayaking experience
My first kayaking experience, they made it so easy and fun. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Easy to rent and we asked for last minute changes and they adjusted it without any problem.

Protect moose island at all costs
Keji is heaven, bruv. It rules. It rocks. Will be back again and again and again. Do not sleep on keji. Great swimming, great camp sites, and great paddle.

      2 Nights in the Backcountry
Wonderful service! Both the planning and on-site support were top notch. We were running late due to highway construction and a call to Whynot assured us that they were flexible and responsive, all ready to go as soon as we arrived. On the drive to the first portage, Cody recommended that due to inbound weather and availability, we might want to switch sites on our second night. His advice really paid off - exhausted and soaked to the skin, we arrived at one of the most picturesque and well appointed sites in the park. It honestly made our day, and the next one. It's clear that the team genuinely cares about the experiences of visitors - would wholeheartedly recommend!

An unforgettable backcountry experience in Kejimkujik
We will never forget the amazing experience we had doing the Frozen Ocean loop, and Whynot Adventures made sure we had everything we needed to do it. They provided us with detailed information about the trip during our planning and were very helpful and friendly when we arrived in Kejimkujik. I highly recommend working with them for a short outing or multi-day trip.

Service was great. The young man who waited on us was very patient and helpful . He was knowledgeable and made the process of filling out the paper work seem easy. He remembered my name and made a point of talking to me on my return

It's a great idea to book ahead of time. If you do so, it will make things efficient when you arrive for your boat. Staff were incredibly helpful including getting everything we needed, asking if we needed extra support, being there to hold boat when we got off of it every time (we have young children). I found the staff friendly and they took the time to share Keji experiences with us such as listening to my children when they shared our turtle sighings and sharing their own animal encounters at Jake's Landing!

Keji is one of our very favorite places and this year we added to the adventure by booking a canoe and two kayaks for a two hour paddle around the river and to the mouth of the lake. We've always loved the trails and views from our bikes but seeing the same things from out on the water gave us an even greater appreciation for this amazing park. The staff at Whynot Adventure could not have been more helpful. They were extremely busy but remained patient and upbeat. The process to reserve, fill out forms and get geared up was smooth and efficient. We brought one of our own life jackets so our little guy could sit on it in the middle of the canoe but it wasn't necessary - the crew at Whynot have small, low chairs for the litter person in the middle of the boat and kids paddles. They made his day! Our 13 year-olds loved the kayaks and exploring the shore and offshoots from the main body of the river. When we returned staff were waiting on shore, smiling and helping us return gear and boats. This will definitely become a regular part of our annual trips to camp at Keji.

It was a gorgeous day- a little on the hot side but being able to dip my hands and feet into the cool water from the canoe was so refreshing. We saw only painted turtles but the views of the meandering river and the peaceful environment were well worth the money and time. Thank you for offering this opportunity to see, enjoy and preserve parts of our planet that are precious.

Love this park and one of the best ways to experience it is on a kayak traveling up the river or on the majestic pristine lake. Staff at Whynot Adventure are friendly and helpful. Especially appreciated the help getting out of the kayak!

We rent from these guys every time we go camping. In the busy seasons we try to book ahead but we have never been turned away from a walk up rental. They are very accommodating and are great with young kids. They give you a map of the lake and are very upfront about safety. You can also rent dry bags for a longer trip. $30 gets you two hours, or $40 for a full day. What a deal!! Get out there and explore.

    The entire trip was fantastic.

Once we arrived the process to check out the reserved canoe was a breeze.

We were given a laminated map with recommendation on our first trip and what we could do if we had some time left. The current wind was also noted and what areas may be a bit choppy because of it.

The staff are clearly passionate about what they do and it shows!

I help facilitate a summer camp and without fail kayaking is always a favourite part of the program! The staff are amazing to deal with, especially when making such a large booking, they make the whole process hassle free. And the location can't be beat, we even saw a turtle on our way down the river! We will be back again soon.

This place is beautiful and not crowded at all. There were many times when we were canoeing and didn't see anyone. The canoes come with little chairs if you have small kids and little paddles too. Our family of four enjoyed the scenery and the river/lake.
