About
Visit an authentic Apulian Masseria and find out how Mozzarella, Burrata, Caciocavallo and many other typical products of southern Italy are made. You will taste both fresh and seasoned cheeses, typical cold cuts and much more... all in complete relaxation. An experience that will make you learn about the history of a small farm and its great craftsmanship! The visit is usually carried out in English, in order to find a common language for our guests, but you can ask for some explanations in French, since our guide speaks French too. As the activity takes place on a farm and partially outdoors, it is advisable to wear closed shoes and suitable clothes for outer temperatures. Pets are welcome, except for the visit inside the mozzarella factory; we inform you that there are some pets on the farm.

An informative fun filled visit at the family farm.
We felt very welcome at this family farm. Pietro gave us an excellent tour of the farmyard and cheese making facilities as he explained what goes into the making of good cheese. We sampled a few of their cheeses with focaccia bread and wine. He also brought us some fava beans that they grow.

      great tour and excellent products
We had a great tour of the masseria. We already knew the delicious mozzarella and ham from breakfast at the B&B, so we visited the masseria. The tour can be Italian or English and it is very interesting to see how the mozzarella is made. All the staff are very friendly and at the end you can taste the great products. We highly recommend the visit. Not only very many locals shop there. Hotels and restaurants are also supplied with the good products.

      Family visit
We were staying in a villa close by and thought to look in. They have a lovely shop with local products - veg, mozzarella made on site, meat, salami, olive oil and small selection of wine. We also had a tour of the mozzarella production which was fascinating. We were then taken around the cow farm. Very interesting process. Great to support the local products and farmers.

      Wonderful local products
I have been to the masseria itself, and also to their shop in Ceglie Messapica, which is just near San Rocco Church. The cheeses are really good, and several of the local restaurants get their dairy products from Fragnite.

Authentic Family run Masseria. It is a unique experience to participate and support the values that make this region so important. The tour is so informative and all aspects of production are explained. The Master Cheesemaker has great passion and his hands on demo of making mozzarella cheese from start to finish! The picnic lunch provided was so tastefully presented and delicious sampling of farm products. Special thanks to our guide! She was so knowledgeable!

This family run dairy farm is an amazing place to learn about cheese making. Daniela was our guide & she spoke excellent English. She takes such pride in showing people around her family’s farm and explaining how their delicious cheeses are made. After the tour & demonstration we sampled the cheeses and local food and wine outside in a pleasant courtyard. Highly recommend this tour to anyone!

My wife and I grew up on a farm. My grandfather had a dairy herd, my wife's family had a side hobby in making cream and butter. So for us, it was like going home after 40 years. The hosts were warm and welcoming and passionate about the farm and the processes involved. Our host, Daniele, had a mixed group and quite comfortably switched between English, French, and Italian. She impressed my wife and I. She had excellent and broad knowledge of everything in the cheese making process

Daniela, our guide, was truely amazing in how much she knows about the farm. We asked a lot of questions, nothing was too much for her. We stayed there longer as foreseen and she kept on offering us amazing food and wine. Ofcourse the cheese was incredible, no words for that. I would recommend this experience to everyone!

Wonderful couple of hours on 5th generation family farm. Charming informative tour of dairy farm and cheese plant. Watching the cheese maker in action was just great. The outdoor brunch featuring cheese, meats, pickles and breads all from the farm accompanied by some local rose wine and olive oil was a perfect finish to the tour. And Daniela our guide was extremely helpful and generous with her answers. Best experience of our few days in Ostuni.

The experience with the family and their farm was absolutely amazing. They were so joyful and passionate about their trade, it really shown through! It was the best tour we had ever been on, our kids felt included in the experience, and the generosity of the hosts with cheese was a memory we will never forget. A “must do” experience in Puglia, even before going to places like Ostuni. Thank you!!

We visited Masseria Fragnite in April. We were hosted by Daniela. She was very knowledgable and her English was great. We toured around the Masseria accompanied by Daniela who explains every step in the cheese making process... from milking to the final product. What I liked best on this tour is that it was all about the cheese making process and never felt we were obliged to buy any of their products. They have a fully stocked cheese shop for any purchases you would want to make. Finally we were given an abbundant taste of their products with some wine which was delicious.

We had the most incredible cheese tour here at Masseria Fragnite. Our tour guide was so informative, spoke English and as well French.

At the end of our tour we got to taste two beautiful platters of cheese, along with a local wine.

Would highly recommend booking here if you want an authentic experience.

Daniela is a member of the extended family who run this masseria. She is very knowledgeable about the entire cheese making process, from managing the cows, the milking, the processing of the milk, to the making of cheese. We toured the facility, participated in making mozzarella and finished with a delicious tasting of different cheeses, faccia and wine served outdoors. The tour was about 3 hours and was definitely a very good value. A very pleasant way to experience local Apulian cheese.

We loved the tour (and the lunch afterwards). It was very authentic- a working farm- and well organised and informative. Our English host Daniella was knowledgeable friendly and helpful. Only advice- if you are going in winter dress warmly as lunch was outside (under shelter).
