Your evening begins by meeting your tour guide and starting the small group tour in Shinjuku’s popular food alley Omoide Yokocho. This is where locals typically hang out and have a drink after work in Tokyo. Sample both food and drink in the backstreet Izakaya bars, with lots of traditional dishes to choose from like sake, local beer, and Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). After the first bar, the next stop is Shibuya’s Kabukicho alley to visit more bars and taverns. Taste Tokyo local cuisine, hear live music, play games and take part in quizzes. Terrific, full tour of tsukiji market
Our tour guide, iNok was fantastic. We got a full tour of the market. He took us exploring knife shops, spice shops, and other shops with Japanese cutting boards, teacups, desserts, and other trinkets. We ate lots and lots of amazing fresh fish, sweet Japanese omelettes, fried eel, and a delicious bluefin tuna rice bowl for lunch at the end.

Tokyo's secrets unlocked! Mai's local knowledge led us to hidden gems.
We really appreciated Mai's hospitality. She had great knowledge of the areas, and we got to see a side of Tokyo, which we never would have stumbled upon ourselves. We really enjoyed the cat painting, visiting lots of interesting shops and trying a variety of local delicacies.

A great experience with our guide, Isao
Well worth the money. Whilst anyone can walk the market, as a foreigner who does not speak Japanese, it was invaluable to have a guide throughout the market. Our guide, Isao, suggested different foods for us to try as we traversed the very busy market. Food in some instances we would not have otherwise ordered. There were times that we also had a number of food samples to try. The trip included 3 paid "snacks" (included) whilst walking the market and later a lunch (the lunch was up to value of Y1500 per person). Isao was very helpful in providing information regarding a variety of foods and background to the things we saw, not only the market, but also the temple and shrine. We finished off the tour a short distance away overlooking part of the city. Overall, a great experience. I am glad I paid the $ for the tour. Tour went for approx 3 hours.

      Asakusa Tour
I enjoyed every bit of this tour. Starting from the walk to temple where we learned fun facts, history of some of the paintings, to the best matcha and dessert I've had. Hitomi was very knowledgeable and fun.

      A good time + Informative
It was a great little excursion thru Shibuya. Went to places I never would’ve tried otherwise. Max, our guide, was great and taught us a lot about the city and culture while getting us nice n’ tipsy. He did his best to keep the energy up but we weren’t the best crowd (jet lag). Food was solid but I wouldn’t necessarily consider it the highlight, this is more of a bar crawl with food, rather than a Food Tour. Still great tho!

Great way to experience some traditional Japanese cuisine and meet fellow travellers

      Must do
Kentake was a fantastic guide and host. He explained many things about Tokyo and the area of Shinjuku. We would not have ventured to the areas we explored without this tour. You get much more than a food experience, it is a Shinjuku experience! Highly recommend

      Highly recommended Tsukiji walking tour
Enjoyed the 3-hr walking tour in Tsukiji Fish Market, Namiyoke Shrine and Tsukiji Honganji. The tour includes lunch and samplers of Tsukiji’s specialties. Our guide, Maiko is very helpful and accommodating. The tour ended with an amazing view of the city at Caretta Shiodome and a special origami souvenir handmade by Maiko.

      Tsukiji tour with Maiko
Maiko was really knowledgeable with touring us around the Tsukiji area! Was really detailed and took really good care of us even showing us the best places to try food. She even showed a real interest in getting to know us and where we came from. Overall an enjoyable experience. Would highly recommend!

      Tsukiji food trip
We booked via Magical Trip and were guided by Maiko who was very knowledgable about the food in Tsukiji market and the nearby places to see. Just eat a light breakfast before the trip because you will eat a lot during the tour of Tsukiji market.

      Market chaos
Toured the Tsukiji Outer market with our guide Yoko and assistant Saya. The market itself was busy and kinda chaotic but Yoko managed to corral us to the places she wanted to show us and was flexible enough to allow for special requests along the way. There's so much to see and do at the market that we stayed on after the tour to do some shopping. We also tried a variety of food and were given a lunch at the end of the tour.

I went to the incorrect door of Uniqlo and could not meet up with the group. I had no way of contacting them either, so I sadly paid $100 for nothing and could not receive a refund. I wish I could have attended; it looks great!

I traveled through Japan by myself in 2019 and had a great time bar hopping with Tommy and others in Tokyo! As a solo female traveler, I was a little worried about going out at night by myself but Tommy put me immediately at ease. He was a great tour guide and I highly recommend MagicalTrip if you want to experience parts of Tokyo that you might not normally see. So sad that I probably won't be able to go to Japan again anytime soon but once I can, I'm making sure to book another tour. Thanks Tommy and MagicalTrip!

We showed up 9 minutes late and the tour guide was not there. We contacted them through Facebook messenger as they didn't give us any way to contact them through the booking info they emailed us. The directions were horrible and yes we were a little late but only a few min. They refused to let us meet up with them, reschedule or give us a refund. I knew they were right there in that area and that we would bump into them immediately if we knew where to look. So we looked for them but couldn't find them because they didn't have a sign or anything. They said on Facebook messenger they didn't want to disrupt the experience of the other tour attendees but basically they stole our money. All of their responses were pre-written copies of their attendance policies. So I expect they regularly rip people off this way who are late or who can't make it because of the complicated train system.

We ended up picking a restaurant at random and it was great. They served skewers upstairs and it was nice. For $40 USD we ate skewers and had a few drinks. It took a long time to be served but the food was great.

I would skip this tour and instead go to that area and just explore on your own and save yourself $200. Btw, they said they waited for 10 minutes for us but they didn't. The meeting location was Uni Qlo right by Shinjuku station, one of the busiest train stations in Tokyo. So plan an extra hour just to figure out the train system if you are new, especially how to exit the train station which isn't obvious. The famous restaurants are right there by Uni Qlo. You don't need the tour guide. Just go and bring your Google Lens to translate everything. You'll have a great time no tour needed!

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you couldn't join the tour. Yes, Shinjuku Station actually is the busiest station in the world. It's very hard to get by for whoever is not familiar with it, us Japanese included. Though very challenging it is, we ask all our customers to show up on time and instruct all our guides to wait for their guests up to 10 minutes but not any longer. Because we go to several bars on this tour and need to wrap it up within 3 hours, that's the longest we can wait. And since one of our strong suits is the connection with local spots, we NEED to be punctual with those restaurants. That's why we have this strict policy. And we think that we can expect some courtsey from guests as well since you're visiting Japan. We offer this tour for people who want to explore local bars that locals go and enjoy the atomosphere and everything so if you're happy with whatever the restaurant nearby the station that offers Japanese food, you sure don't need our tour. Glad to hear that you enjoyed our food, though. MagicalTrip Support Team

This is my second time doing a tour with the company. Despite barely making it to the meet up location I was able to find my tour guide Mami. No one else had booked so it ended up being just the two of us. She took me to some great bars with good food and drinks. We talked and chatted for almost the entire 3 hour gap. Since she studied in America we had a lot of stuff to talk about and converse with. I really enjoyed the scenery, the history, and the connections made throughout the entire experience. Doing Magical Trip for my first day in Japan has become my tradition to introduce me to places I'd never see or experience alone. Even if their service is considered a tour guide, it's way more than that. I look forward to using them again at some point.

We had a great night with our tour guide, Rai. We paid about $80 per person and went to three different bars. Included in that price was 2 drinks and a food item at each of the bars. We really enjoyed going out with Rai. It was nice to interact with a local since we don’t speak japan3se. We found some great spots that we ended up at again before our stay in Tokyo was over.

We recently went on a night tour guided by Joey, and it was an experience we’ll never forget! Joey was not only knowledgeable about the city's history and hidden gems but also incredibly friendly and engaging. He made sure everyone felt comfortable and involved, sharing fascinating stories and insights about the city.

The tour was well-paced, allowing us enough time to enjoy each stop and take photos. Joey’s enthusiasm for the city was contagious, and his recommendations for things to do/see after the tour were greatly appreciated.

If you're looking for a unique way to see the city at night, I highly recommend joining one of Joey’s tours.

    10/10 would recommend!

I’ve been to Japan twice, this was my third time and first time with my wife. While I try to do my research every time, some spots are just really tough to discover on your own, or order the right things. We went on a tour with Mana and a very small group of other tourists. Mana was incredible. She somehow managed to be both fun and educational. I can’t imagine a better way of exploring Tokyo as a tourist short have a best friend who lives there.

We had an absolute blast trying the night dives and having local food. It started my love affair with umeboshi lol. One day, soon, this pandemic will calm down, and my wife and I will return to Japan. We will absolutely try the other Magical Tours options (we also did Asakusa magical tour on that trip and it was also great!).

Luckily I was the only one so it felt like a private tour. Misa has been a fantastic host and had great fun with her. I enjoyed the Karaoke experience, especially since Misa is a real singer/artist so it felt special to me.

Went on this trip on Oct 22nd and it was a fun nite. Our group was small only 6 of us which seems to be the norm as some of the places we want were very small. Our guide Mr Sho was a blast, very funny, entertaining and with great english. This is a great way to see some of the lovely small bars tucked away in back alleys that you might never find. I would recommend this tour to anyone, definitely worth it and if you are lucky you will end up with Sho san. P.s. if he wishes you luck in the afterlife, just thanks him and carry on 🤣
