You can also explore this as well as other historic sites in Nassau. Fort Fincastle was built in 1793 to help protect the city from pirates. Every Wednesday and Friday, starting at 11:30 a.m., a living historical scene lets you step back in time and experience daily life in 18th-century Nassau. It features characters dressed in period costume, who exhibit basketweaving techniques, kitchen utensils used over 250 years ago, and fruits sold at the market. It culminates with the firing of the cannon at 12:00 noon.

A walk along the winding trails throughout the park will reveal a variety of ecosystems, such as native coppice, cliffs, coastal wetlands, dunes, rocky shorelines, sandy beaches, and offshore coral reefs. Local fauna include songbirds, wading birds, seabirds, and other wildlife. You can enjoy swimming, fishing, hiking, camping, snorkeling using our snorkels, birdwatching, and picnicking in the Park, and the panoramic views from the cliffs.
