Bernardo was the best! You could tell how much he enjoyed showing us the spots he's identified as being the most authentic, with the most heart and passion for the food and spirits culture in Puerto Vallarta.

It was so nice to start with a DELICIOUS fish taco, and a wonderful cocktail, and so much fun to wander the streets and go to places we never would've known to go to.

Bernardo even ordered us an additional al pastor taco at one spot once he saw how much we were all excited about them! He also hooked it up with warm churros from a stand that he ordered 45-ish minutes in advance so they were ready when we came out of our Raicilla tasting spot. Just so cool and thoughtful!

My fiancé shared how he thought it'd be cool to see the sunset, so Bernardo got our last cocktail "to-go" and we ended our tour on the sand watching the sunset together. Thanks so much for offering this tour, would definitely do this one again if not another one of the Vallarta Food Tours.

Can't recommend enough!

This tour was a must do! We had such a great experience with Sylvia. She is a semi-local and knew so much about the history and shared her love of food and libations with us around her city. We also got to meet some other people from America that were such great company as well.
I’m not a seafood eater and she even made sure to accommodate my preferences when everyone else were given seafood options. Our sense of adventure was challenged with crickets and mezcal shots. We had delicious cocktails as we roamed the city hearing stories. All of the food was incredible. The service was great and staff was inviting and super hospitable at every stop. Highly recommend this trip as it made us feel so comfortable being shown around by a local and getting a feel of the city by foot. Great job, Sylvia. Gracias!! -The Robertsons from Savannah, GA (USA)

We had an excellent time with Luis Alba (husband of Jessica - or so he says… 😀) on our “Mex-ology” tour! Not only did we enjoy some of the most delicious local cuisine, but we also learned a great deal about tequila and Mezcal. (#themezcalmethod) We met with local artisans as well as with popular restauranteurs. In addition, we enjoyed the spectacular views of the mountains, colorful architecture, and local artwork. Luis was extremely knowledgeable about regional foods/flavors and drinks as well as with the local culture, history, etc. He was able to answer any questions that arose and was very engaging. We highly recommend this tour and are looking forward to exploring more excursions with Vallarta Food Tours on our next visit.

Our tour guide Luis Alba was outstanding. He took our group of 8 to some fabulous places and made adjustments along the way (like ordering a Birthday cake for my wife). He is extremely knowledgeable of PV, its history and made this a very fun evening. We highly recommend this tour if you want more background on PV, the culture and of course the Tequila!! Luis was great and would recommend him for any group tour. Enjoy!!

We had a great time on our tour. Bernardo, our guide, was the best. He was upbeat, fun and took us to some great spots. He was knowledgeable of the three areas of PV we visited and the history behind the restaurants we went to.

We combined the food and mixology tour on a private tour for 17 people. I worked with Paul to put together an itinerary that would work for our group. We had a 20 person air conditioned van and were picked up and dropped off at our resort.

This is the second time we have gone on a food tour with Vallarta Food Tours and would recommend them to anyone.

I am so glad my husband and I decided to book this food and tequila tour at the beginning of our trip while in Puerto Vallarta. Exceeded our expectations. I was not sure how many places we would get to visit due to Covid restrictions and restaurant closures due to the pandemic. Our tour guide, Bernardo, took us to 8 tasting locations (Jo Jack’s Fish Shack, Bar Zapata, Mariscos el Guero, Memo’s Taco Grill, Pulque chingaquedito, Sonorita, Bar La Playa, Mezcal y Sal). It was a beautiful day in Puerto Vallarta and our group was small, 6 people, which was wonderful! The food and drinks were delicious at every location. The Mezcal tasting with the grillo 🦗 was an experience! The Al pastor taco at Sonorita was delicious. The ceviche tostada at Mariscos el guero was so fresh. Enjoyed the pulque at Pulque chinga quedito. Mezcal y Sal was a great end to our tour. Their bartender is an artist, the drink presentation and taste is so unique and Instagram worthy. My husband and I went back to sample more drinks and food from their menu. A new favorite spot! Bernardo was a wonderful tour guide. So knowledgeable, easy going and super professional. Highly recommend you to book with him!

I would give this 6/5 if I could. Luis Alba was our tour guide, and he really made the tour. It was a drinking and eating history lesson, and Luis' breadth of knowledge on everything even remotely related to the tour was impressive. He did an amazing job catering to a group with varied ages and personalities, and made everyone a part of the experience.

If you want to spend a full afternoon getting to know Zona Romantica, agave spirits old and new, and try some incredible restaurants that you certainly wouldn't stumble upon (even with some research), this is the tour for you. It was the most expensive thing we did in PV and worth every penny.

My wife and I have found that Puerto Vallarta is truly one of the most hospitable vacation places we’ve been to. We try and embrace new experiences especially when it comes to food.
We both love tacos and tequila and found this tour that fit the bill. Not only did we have a fairly large samplings of both but our guide Bernardo was well versed in the history and differences of each. He knew regional and cultural vagaries that define them. From the many types of agave that the numerous varieties tequila is made from and how they are created. Top that with some of the best Mexican delicacies in Puerto Vallarta we were able to explore tastes that made us smile even without the added stimulation of the drink that originated from Mezcal and that even included a local moonshine called “Raicilla”.
Bernardo went above and beyond with his choices for us and even got my wife to eat an unusual snack of a deep fried grasshopper (totally optional) which we all enjoyed.
My personal favorite taco was a extremely fresh, melt in your mouth fish (snapper) taco that I added a zesty habanero sauce on. Yum!

BEST TOUR IN PVR. this was my second time attending the mixology food/drink tour and I was even more impressed. The tour has been updated with new spots and better selections. We enjoyed every food and drink item we had and learning the history of the city and restaurants. Our tour guide Gio was extremely knowledgeable and so incredibly kind! He made us feel included and helped the two groups on our tour to socialize and become friends with one another. Gio made our tour so much fun and he provided top quality guidance. 10/10 would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Puerto Vallarta!

This tour is a must!!! We had the most amazing guide named Sylvia. Huge shout out to you girl!! She is a bubbly, sweet, professional and a very knowledgeable person that shared so much info about not only the food and drinks which were INCREDIBLE!! But equally as important she shared with us the history and culture of this beautiful city and country and what goes into what we ate and drank. Look no further then this tour company because they crushed it! Thanks Sylvia you made our week :)))
